, Jr., Councilmen Bobby F u l l e r , Ross F e r r i s , Lee Roy Nix, and J. S. Anderson. The council meethg was opened with a prayer by Councilman Anderson. The mi'nutes of the regular
council meeting of March 22, 1960, and the special counctl meeting of March 28, 1960, and special council meeting and p u b l i c hearing of March 29, 1960, were read and approved by
the C i t y Council. 2. A m o t h was made by Csuncllman Nix, and seconded by Councilman F e r r i s , to approve the i n s t a l l a t i o n of a s i x t y gallon gasoline tank on the
1960 Ford Chassis for the new-f i r e truck instead of the t h i r t y gallon tank approved i n motion no. 4 of the council meeting of March 22, 1960. This w i l l cost $60.00 extra,
these are t o be included i n the cost of the chassis. Three Councilmen voted i n favor of t h i s motion, and one, Councilman Anderson, did not vote. 3. A motion was made by Councilman
F e r r i s , and seconded by Councilman Nix, to approve adding $40.00 t o the cost of the 1960 Ford Chassis for an extra long wheel base, Chassis p r i c e of $6,177.00 plus $60.00
for a sixty gallon gasoline tank, plus $40.00 for g e t t i n g a longer wheel base chassis, making a t o t a l cost on the 1960 Ford Chassis $6,277.00. Three Councilmen voted i n favor
of t h i s motion, and one, Councilman Anderson, did not vote. This would make the 1960 Ford 4. A motion was made by Councilman Anderson, and seconded by Councilman Nix, that Resolution
No. 30 be approved, c e r t i f y i n g the r e s u l t s of the C i t y Election held on A p r i l 5, 1960, as canvassed by the Mayor i n the presence of the CFty Council, and t h a

Nix, that Councilman F u l l e r be elected Mayor Pro Tem. A motion was made by Councilman F e r r i s , and seconded by Councilman Nix, that nominations for Mayor Pro Tem cease. Four
Councilmen voted i n favor of the motion and one, Councilman F u l l e r , n o t v o t i n g . The Clty Counctl discussed w i t h C l t y Attorney W. L. Bondurant the complaint 6y Mrs.
John Kenney who operates the nursery school on South Main Street, of other people a d v e r t i s i n g to keep c h i l d r e n i n t h e i r homes. M r . Bondurant stated as long as
these people only did t h i s on a I small scale and t h a t as long as it was not big enough to be c l a s s i f i e d as a business, he did n o t b e l i e v e the C i t y could doany-thFn,g
about it. A motion was made by Councilman F u l l e r , and seconded by Councilman F e r r i s , t h a t the C i t y Secretary w r i t e Mrs. Kenney and suggest that she f i l e a w
r i t t e n complaint w i t h the State Health and Welfare Department O f f i c e In Fort Worth. The vote i n favor was unan imous. 8. A motion was made by Councilman Nix, and seconded
by Councilman F e r r i s , t h a t the C i t y Secretary w r i t e to M r . & Mrs. Floyd T. Taylor, 1024 Denton Drive, Midway Park, t h a t they w i l l have to take out a Peddler's
License to operate the push type ice cream c a r t s i n Euless. The vote i n favor was unanlmous. 9. A motion was made by Councilman F e r r i s , and seconded by Councilman F u l l
e r , to authorize the c a l l i n g of a p u b l i c hearing on the request of the Municipal Service Company t o rezone from "A" Residential t o "B" Local Business Tract 1, Being a
t r a c t of land out of the J. P. Halford Survey, described as follows:

10. Mr. Galon Jack, owner of the Wigwam Skating Rink,appeared before the Cfty Counctl i n connecti'on w i t h t h e i r request that he i n s t a l l restroom f a c i l i t i e s a t
the skating r i n k . A f t e r discussing t h i s matter, the Council asked him t o draw up a plan on how he could provide these f a c i l i t i e s and come back w i t h t h i s plan
a t the next regular council meeting which w i l l be A p r i l 26, 1960. The City CouncSl received a l e t t e r from the Mid-Cities O i l Company, P. 0. Box 294, Hurst, Texas, requesthg
permission t o i n s t a l l a 1000 gallon tank f o r butane storage, the tank t o be t h l r t y feet i n f r o m the southwest corner of t h e i r l o t on Heather Drive and Highway
183. the C i t y Secretary was i n s t r u c t e d t o w r i t e to these people and ask them to contact the Railroad Commission and get t h e i r requirements on t h i s i n s t a l
l a t i o n w i t h reference t o the proximity to the houses j u s t south of t h i s butane tank, give us t h i s information and the Council w i l l pass on the request. 12. The C
i t y Council received a request from M r . J. A. Puckett to rezone the f o l l o w i n g property t o "B" Local Business: Beginning a t a steel rod from the southwest corner of the

"C" Commerci'al 300 feet back Prom the highway at the present time. A motion was made by Councilman Ferris, and seconded by Councilman Nix, that the Ctty Secretary w r i t e a l e t
t e r of thanks to M r . Royce Wisenbaker of the Wisenbaker, Fix & Associates, thanking him f o r l e t t i n g the City Hall and F i r e Station have sewer connecttons without cost

discussed with the Chief o f Police the purchasing of uniforms by the Police Department. the City would supply each new policeman with the following uniforms: It was decided that 4 summer

w i l l be turned i n t o the C i t y i f h i s employment i s terminated f o r any reason. Men already on the p o l i c e force w i l l be brought up t o the same status on uniforms.
16. A motion was made 6y Councilman F e r r i s , and seconded by Councilman Nix, that a l l c l o t h i n g allowance w i l l be discontinued. Except that the Chief o f Police w i l
l have the option of the City buying h i s uniforms or paying him a clothing allowance. was unanimous. The vote In favor o f t h i s motion A motion was made by Councilman Nix, and seconded

The
Clty Counctl discussed with Clty Attorney
W. L. Bondurant the complaint 6y Mrs. John Kenney who operates the nursery
school on South Main Street, of other people advertising to keep children in
their homes.
Mr. Bondurant stated as long as these people only did this on a I
small scale and that as long as it was not big enough to be classified as a
business, he did not believe the City could doany-thFn,g about it. A motion was
made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the City
Secretary write Mrs. Kenney and suggest that she file a written complaint with
the State Health and Welfare Department Office In Fort Worth. The vote in
favor was unan imous.

A motion was made by Councilman Nix, and
seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the City Secretary write to Mr. & Mrs. Floyd
T. Taylor,
1024 Denton Drive, Midway Park, that they will have to take out a

A motion was made by Councilman Ferris, and

10.
Mr. Galon Jack, owner of the Wigwam Skating
Rink,appeared before the Cfty Counctl in connecti'on with their request that he
install restroom facilities at the skating rink. After discussing this matter,
the Council asked him to draw up a plan on how he could provide these facilities
and come back with this plan at the next regular council meeting which
will be
April 26, 1960.
The
City CouncSl received a letter from the
Mid-Cities Oil Company, P. 0. Box 294, Hurst, Texas, requesthg permission to
install a 1000 gallon tank for butane storage, the tank to be thlrty feet in
from the southwest corner of their lot on Heather Drive and Highway 183. the
City Secretary was instructed to write to these people and ask them to contact
the Railroad Commission and get their requirements on this installation with
reference to the proximity to the houses just south of this butane tank, give
us this information and the Council
will pass on the request.
12.
The City Council received a request from
Mr. J. A. Puckett to rezone the following property to "B" Local Business:

of the north R.O.W. line of State Highway 183 with the east R.O.W.
line of Carter Drive;

The City Council referred this request back to
the Planning and Zoning Comtssion for clarification as to the type of zoning

the present time.
A motion was made by Councilman Ferris, and
seconded by Councilman Nix, that the Ctty Secretary write a letter of thanks to
Mr. Royce Wisenbaker of the Wisenbaker, Fix & Associates, thanking him for
