Bobby F u l l e r , Ross F e r r i s , H. M. Huffman, and Roy Braswell. 1. M r . Earl Harrison appeared before the C i t y Council requesting permission to b u i l d a f i l l i n g
s t a t i o n on the Marvin Simmons property i n f r o n t of the old Euless Garage Building on the northwest corner o f Simmons Drive and Euless Boulevard. This w i l l be a conventional
type f i l l i n g s t a t i o n w i t h concrete paving i n f r o n t and asphalt approach driveways, with underground gasol ine storage. The old Euless Garage bui lding w i l l be
remodeled and w i l l be used as a Goodyear Service Store being operated i n connection with the f i l l i n g s t a t i o n . A motion was made by Councilman F e r r i s and seconded
by Councilman F u l l e r t o approve the a p p l i c a t i o n t o b u i l d t h i s f i l l i n g s t a t i o n and t o a s s i s t them i n g e t t i n g the l i g h t pole i n f
r o n t moved when they decide j u s t where they want it. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i s motion. 2. M r . Jim Casey, Vice President of the Plymouth Bark Shopping
Center, appeared before the C i t y Council requesting permission t o b u i l d a conventional type f i l l i n g s t a t i o n on Lot C i n the Midway Park commercial area on the northwest
corner o f Midway Drive and North Main S t r e e t i n t e r s e c t i o n . This f i l l i n g s t a t i o n i s being b u i l t f o r the American Petrofina Company and w i l l be
o f masonry and p l a t e glass construction t o cost approximately $20,000, with a paved d r i v e and approach driveways. Service pumps or any other permanent structure of t h i s
f i l l i n g s t a t i o n cannot be set less than f o r t y-two feet from the center l i n e o f North Main Street. A motion was made by Councilman F e r r i s , and seconded by Councilman
Braswell, t o approve t h i s request. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i s motion. 3. The C i t y Council received a l e t t e r from M r . Clark McKelvey asking that
the sixteen and one-half acre t r a c t i n the A. M. Downing Survey, located on the southwest corner o f the i n t e r s e c t i o n o f Highway 183 and FM Highway 157 where his home
and pony farm i s located, be rezoned commercial. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman F u l l e r , that the C i t y Council are i n favor o f rezoning
t h i s property to commercial, but that i t w i l l be necessary f o r him t o f u r n i s h us with f i e l d notes, or a deed, so that we can get a more d e f i n i t e legal description
o f t h i s property so that our C i t y Attorney can prepare an a u t h o r i z a t i o n f o r public hearing on t h i s request. The C i t y Secretary i s instructed t o w r i t e
M r . McKelvey requesting t h i s information. Three Councilmen voted i n favor o f t h i s motion and one, Councilman F e r r i s , voted against the motion s t a t i n g that he believed
the request t o rezone t h i s property should be approved subject to receipt o f the f i e l d notes so as not t o cause any unnecessary delay i n rezoning t h i s property.

i v i n g a t 1023 l r i o n Drive put t h e i r t r a s h o u t i n cans but without l i d s on them. The people a t 1019 l r i o n Drive put out t h e i r garbage i n a barrel without
any l i d and a cardboard barrel without any l i d . This smells bad and a t t r a c t s f l i e s and i s a health hazard. The people l i v i n g a t 1014 l r i o n Drive keep a goat
and chickens i n t h e i r back yard. They make so much noise early i n the morning that people l i v i n g around there cannot sleep. The Councilmen advised him to make out a w r i
t t e n complaint and get it signed by people l i v i n g nearby and bring i t back a t the next council meeting. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman
F e r r i s , t h a t the Dog Warden A. E. Baker, be permitted to keep the dog truck a t his residence t o f a c i l i t a t e his work in picking up dogs, but that he i s to be informed
that he i s to use the truck f o r picking up animals only, and i n no way put it t o personal use. He i s to be allowed t o carry his wife with him i n the truck when necessary. A l
l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i s motion. 6. A motion was made by Councilman F u l l e r , and seconded by Councilman Huffman, t o approve State Highway Department Permit
No. 220-D64-60. This i s f o r one f o r t y foot and one f o r t y-three foot asphalt drive with s i x inch r o l l e d curb to be located at the f i l l i n g s t a t i o n on the
Marvin Simmons property on the northwest corner of the intersection of Simmons Drive and Euless Boulevard. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i s motion. 7. A motion was
made by Councilman F u l l e r , and seconded by Councilman Braswell, that i t w i l l be necessary f o r M r . J. A. Puckett t o get flow l i n e grade, and curb staked approved by
City Engineer W. A. E l l i o t t , Jr., on his property on Carter Drive i n Westwood V i l l a g e and submit them to the Council. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i
s motion. 8. A motion was made by Counci lman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman F u l l e r , that the Police Department get three or four bids on trading the 1959 Ford patrol car
for a new 1960 Ford patrol car-. new Ford car i s to have the next smaller size motor than we have i n the 1960 intercepter motor we have i n the 1960 p a t r o l . The new 1960 Ford
patrol car i s to have the same specifications except for the S l i g h t l y smaller motor. Councilmen present voted in favor of t h i s motion. The A l l Attest: Minutes Approved:

Mr. Glen Weir, 1020 lrion Drive in Midway
Park, appeared before the City Council to complain that the people living at
1023 lrion Drive put their trash out in cans but without lids on them. The
people at 1019 lrion Drive put out their garbage in a barrel without any lid
and a cardboard barrel without any lid. This smells bad and attracts flies
and is a health hazard. The people living at 1014 lrion Drive keep a goat and
chickens in their back yard. They make
so much noise early in the morning that
people living around there cannot sleep. The Councilmen advised him to make
out a written complaint and get it signed by people living nearby and bring it
back at the next council meeting.
A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the Dog Warden A. E. Baker, be permitted
to keep the dog truck at his residence to facilitate his work in picking up
dogs, but that he is to be informed that he is to use the truck for picking up
animals only, and in no way put it to personal use. He is to be allowed to
carry his wife with him in the truck when necessary.
All Councilmen present
voted in favor of this motion.
6.
A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Huffman, to approve State Highway Department Permit No.
220-D64-60. This is for one forty foot and one forty-three foot asphalt drive
with six inch rolled curb to be located at the filling station on the Marvin
Simmons property on the northwest corner of the intersection of Simmons Drive
and Euless Boulevard. All Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion.
7.
A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell, that it will be necessary for Mr. J. A.
Puckett to get flow line grade, and curb staked approved by City Engineer
W. A. Elliott, Jr., on his property on Carter Drive in Westwood Village and
submit them to the Council.
All Councilmen present voted in favor of this
motion.
8.
A motion was made by Counci lman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the Police Department get three or four
bids on trading the
1959 Ford patrol car for a new 1960 Ford patrol car-.
new Ford car is to have the next smaller size motor than we have in the 1960
intercepter motor we have in the
1960 patrol. The new 1960 Ford patrol car is
to have the same specifications except for the Slightly smaller motor.
Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion.
