BOARD MINUTES
December 3, 2015

Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Barney Snitz asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the November 5, 2015 meeting. Marcia Brown made the motion to accept the minutes and Allan
Gibbs seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed the visitors.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Sherry Knight introduced Melissa Martinez, Library Aide. Melissa shared with the board her job
responsibilities and her family information and hobbies.
Sherry reported on past and upcoming library events and outreach opportunities.
Circulation Statistics Update:
Sherry Knight provided an in-depth look at circulation statistics for FY2015, including breakdowns by age
group and by material type.
Library Technology Update:
Sherry Knight reviewed usage statistics and trends for the library's technology services, including public
computers, wi-fi usage, laptops, tablets, the Library Document Station, and new library social media accounts
with Instagram and Goodreads.

REPORTS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS:
1. Barney Snitz and Mary Lib Saleh commented on the Heritage Park Christmas celebration, scheduled for
December 12.
2. Barney Snitz commented on Access Euless and complimented the city on its fast response time.
3. Barney Snitz commented on the upcoming Euless Citizens' Fire Academy Alumni Association
Christmas party.
4. Sherry Knight thanked Loretta Doty for her service on the Library Board.
5. Carol Kveck commented on the upcoming Parade of Lights. Sherry Knight also commented on the
parade. Sherry invited the board members to ride or walk with the library's float with Mary Lib Saleh.
6. Allan Gibbs reported that the library's teen volunteers will be painting his Little Free Library, and it will
advertise the library and Metroport Rotary Club.
7. Allan Gibbs commented on the Euless Library Foundation's Books for Troops project.
8. Marcia Brown commented on the HEBISD Retired Educators donation of ESL books for Trinity High
School.
9. Loretta Doty commented on Ice Fest, scheduled for Dec. 5 at the Dr. Pepper Star Center.
10. LuAnn Portugal commented on current development projects in the city.
11. Barney Snitz introduced Robert Montalbo. Mr. Montalbo commented on his desire to be involved in the
community and ways he could contribute to the library.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by
Marcia Brown. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
