HomeMy WebLinkAbout175 09-25-1962ORDINANCE NO. 175 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN OFFICIAL CITY NEWSPAPER, TO BE PUB - IJSHED AT LEAST ONE TIME IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE EULESS CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS; I. THAT the territory particularly described by metes and bounds in Exhibit "A ", attached and made a part hereof, being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and lying adjacent to the City of Euless, is hereby annexed, brought within the Corporate Limits and made an integral part of the said City of Euless. II . THIS Ordinance is cumulative of other annexation ordinances passed by the City of Euless and it is not the intention of this Ordinance to annex or attempt to annex to the City of Euless any territory or land which is already within the corporate limits of the City of Euless. M. THAT this Ordinance shall be published at least one time in the Daily News - Texan, the official newspaper for the City of Euless, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of the Euless City Charter. IV. THAT this Ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its first publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained. 5 T" PRESENTED and given First Reading on the a.day of S 1962, at a P�au.LA Q Meeting of the a City Council of the City of Euless, Texas; and given Second Reading, passed and approved on the day of , 1962, by a vote of Ayes and Nays at a Meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas. WOODSON SURVEY, Abstract No. 1641, the THOMAS BEEDY SURVEY, Abstract No. 71, the JOHN G. CUMMINGS SURVEY, Abstract No 303, and a small part of the JAMES P. HALLFORD SURVEY, Abstract No. 711, in Tarrant County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit line of the City of Euless, Texas, said point being at the intersection of the West right -of- way line of F. M. Highway No. 157, and in the North right -of -way line of the Bedford - Euless Road (County Road No. 3020); THENCE West with the North line of said Bedford - Euless Road 783 feet to the Southeast corner of a 6 -acre tract annexed by the provisions of the City of Euless Ordinance No. 55, dated August 11, 1956; THENCE with the following courses and distances described in said Ordinance No. 55, North 662 feet, West 394 feet and South 662 feet to the Southwest corner of said 6 -acre tract in the North line of Bedford - Euless Road; THENCE continuing with the present City Limits of the City of Euless as annexed through the provisions of Ordinance No. 86, dated October 8, 1957, Westerly with the North line of Bedford - Euless Road, at 4300 feet pass the West line of said Jasper Survey and the East line of said Woodson Survey, in all 6082 feet to the Westerly end of said annexation described in Ordinance No. 86, a point in the North line of said Bedford - Euless Road; THENCE Southerly to a point in the center of said Bedford- Euless Road, a point on the South line of said Woodson Survey and in the present City Limits of the City of Bedford, Texas, as shown on the official map of the City of Bedford, Texas, dated January, 1960, and revised March, 1962, said point also being approximately 300 feet Westerly from the Northeast corner of County Tract No. 3 out of the P. A. CASH SURVEY, Abstract No. 280, Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE West with the City Limit line of Bedford, Texas, 900 feet to the Southwest corner of said Woodson Survey; THENCE continuing with said Bedford City Limit line and the boundary line between said Woodson and Seedy Surveys, North 1320 feet to the Northeast corner of County Tract No. 4 out of said Beedy Survey; Page 2 THENCE continuing with said Bedford City Limit line Westerly with the North line of said County Tract No. 4, passing its Northwest corner, a distance of approximately 2100 feet; THENCE continuing with said Bedford City Limit line with the following courses and distances: Northerly approximately 175 feet, Westerly approximately 150 feet, Northerly approximately 300 feet, Easterly approximately 150 feet, Northerly approximately 500 feet, and Easterly at 2150 feet pass the East line of said Beedy Survey in the West line of said Woodson Survey, in all approximately 3450 feet to the point in the East line of County Tract No. 1 of said Woodson Survey; THENCE continuing with said Bedford City Limit line Southerly about 350 feet and Easterly about 1100 feet to the Northeast corner of County Tract No. 5 of said Woodson Survey and Southerly about 650 feet and Easterly at about 360 feet pass the East line of said Woodson Survey in the West line of said jasper Survey, in all about 1260 feet to the Southeast corner of County Tract No. 3 -A out of said jasper Survey; THENCE continuing with said Bedford City Limit Line Northerly 1320 feet to the Northeast corner of County Tract No. 3 out of said jasper Survey, said point being on the North line of said jasper Survey and the South line of said CummingsSurvey ; THENCE continuing with the Bedford City Limit line Westerly with the boundary line between said Cummings and jasper Surveys, at approximately 1000 feet pass the Southwest corner of said Cummings Survey and the Northwest corner of said jasper Survey, in all approximately 2200 feet to a point in the North line of County Tract No. 4 -A out of said Woodson Survey; THENCE continuing with said Bedford City Limit Line Northerly approximately 2450 feet; THENCE continuing with said Bedford City Limit line Easterly at approximately 1270 feet, the East line of said Woodson Survey, in all approximately 5570 feet to a point in the West line of Oak Grove Estates, an Addition to the City of Bedford, Texas; THENCE continuing with the City Limit line of Bedford, Texas, Southerly with the said West line of Oak Grove Estates approximately 2450 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 7, Block 7 of said Addition; A Page 3 THENCE Easterly with the South line of said Block 7, approximately 350 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 7, said Addition; THENCE Northerly with the East line of said Lot 1, Block 7, Oak Grove Estates, approximately 200 feet to the South line of Midway Court in said Addition; THENCE Easterly with the South line of Midway Court in the Bed- ford City Limit line approximately 625 feet to a point in the West right -of- way line of said F.M. Highway No. 157, said point being in the present City Limit line of Euless, Texas, as annexed by Ordinance No. 48; THENCE Southerly with the West right -of-way line of F. M.
