Home My WebLink About179 11-27-1962ORDINANCE NO. 179 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN THE OFFICIAL CITY NEWSPAPER, TO BE PUBLISHED AT LEAST ONE TIME IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE EULESS CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: I. THAT the territory particularly described by metes and bounds in Exhibit "A ", attached and made a part hereof, being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and lying adjacent to the City of Euless, is hereby annexed, brought within the Corporate Limits and made an integral part of the said City of Euless. THIS Ordinance is cumulative of Annexation Ordinances No. 36, No. 38 and No. 68, heretofore adopted by the City of Euless, and annexes additional territory to the City of Euless. This Ordinance is being passed for the purpose of clarifying and ratifying City of Euless Ordinances No. 36, No. 38 and No. 68, and annexes additional territory to the City of Euless. It is not the intention of this Ordinance to annex, or attempt to annex to the City of Euless any territory or land which is already within the Corporate Limits of the City of Euless. III. THAT this Ordinance shall be published at least one time in the Daily News - Texan, the official newspaper for the City of Euless, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of the Euless City Charter. IV. THAT this Ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its first publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained. DOWNEN SURVEY, Abstract No. 415, the JAMES MATSON SURVEY, Abstract No. 1080, and the KITTY HOUSE SURVEY, Abstract No. 678, in Tarrant County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the South line of the Bedford - Euless Road (County Road No. 3020), said point being the most Westerly Northwest corner of the area described in City of Euless Annexation Ordinance No. 10, dated July 6, 1953, said point also being on the South line of the area described by City of Euless Annexation Ordinance No. 86, dated October 8, 1957, and said point also being approximately 1980 feet Westerly from the intersection of the South line of said Bedford - Euless Road and the West line of F. M. Highway No. 157; THENCE West with the South line of Bedford - Euless Road and the South line of said Ordinance No. 86, approximately 4800 feet to a point in the City Limit line of the City of Bedford, Texas, as shown on the official map of said city, dated January, 1960, and revised March, 1962, and also as described in a City of Bedford Annexation Ordinance dated August 9, 1960, said point also being in the East line of a 40 -acre tract deeded to Idamae Clowers out of the T. A. CASH SURVEY, Abstract No. 280, and recorded in Vol. 2868, Page 160, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, said tract being known as County Tract No. 3 out of said Survey; THENCE with the City of Bedford City Limits line South 110 East 1364 feet, more or less, along the East line of said 40 -acre tract as recorded in Vol. 2868, Page 160, to the Southeast corner of said tract; THENCE West with the City of Bedford City Limits line along the South line of said 40 -acre tract to the Northeast corner of the Southwest quarter of said CASH SURVEY; THENCE continuing with said City of Bedford City Limits line, South along the East line of said Southwest quarter of the CASH SURVEY to the Southeast corner of the said 40 -acre tract, a point in the South line of said CASH SURVEY; THENCE continuing with the City Limits line of the City of Bedford West along the South line of said CASH SURVEY to the Southwest corner of said Survey; Page 2 THENCE continuing with the City Limits line of the City of Bedford South approximately 1320 feet along the East line of a 40 -acre tract deeded to Juanita Kastner Realty Corporation as recorded in Vol. 3258, Page 540, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, to the Southeast corner of said 40 -acre tract; THENCE continuing with the said Bedford City Limits line, West along the South line of the said 40 -acre tract, to the Northwest corner of an 8.4 -acre tract of land deeded to T. Grizzelle as recorded in Vol. 3402, page 584; THENCE continuing with said City of Bedford City Limits line, South along the West line of said 8.4 -acre tract to the most Northerly Southwest corner of said tract; THENCE continuing with the Bedford City Limits line, East along the most Northerly South line of said 8.4 -acre tract to a re- entrant corner in same; THENCE continuing with the Bedford City Limits line, South along the West line of said 8.4 -acre tract to the most Southerly Southwest corner of said tract and continuing South along the West line of a 3.18 -acre tract deeded to D. T. Gouge, as recorded in Vol. 2796, Page 401, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, to its Southwest corner on the North line of Pipeline Road (County Road No. 3091), said point being the most Westerly Northeast corner of the area annexed to the City of Euless by Ordinance No. 35, dated March 26, 1955, and said point also being the most Southerly Southeast corner of the Bedford Annexation Ordinance dated August 9, 1960; THENCE continuing with the boundary line of said Euless Ordinance No. 35, South at a point in the center of said Pipeline Road, pass the Northeast corner of the JOHN GROVES SURVEY, Abstract No. 599, and the Northwest corner of the KITTY HOUSE SURVEY, Abstract No. 678, in all a distance of approximately 900 feet to a point in the North line of State Highway No. 183; THENCE Northeasterly with the North line of State Highway No. 183, and the North line of Ordinance No. 35, and Ordinance No. 34, dated March 15, 1955, a distance of approximately 5900 feet, a point in the West line of the City of Euless Annexation Ordinance No. 25, dated September 6, 1954; THENCE North with the West line of said Ordinance No. 25, approximately 1350 feet to the Northwest corner of said Annexation Ordinance; Page 3 THENCE continuing with the boundary line of said Ordinance No. 25, East approximately 2640 feet to a point in the West line of F. M. Highway No. 157, in the boundary line of the City of Euless Annexation Ordinance No. 10, said point also being the Northeast corner of said Ordinance No. 25; THENCE North with the boundary line as described in said Ordinance No. 10 and the West line of F.
