c a n , J r . , Councilmen Bobby F u l l e r , Ross F e r r i s , Lee Roy Nix, H. M. Huffman, and Roy Braswell. 1. The C i t y Council discussed the eleven hours overtime shown on the
payroll sheet by Patrolman W. R. Emmons on the t r i p t o Gradewater t o the f o o t b a l l game. I t was decided by the C i t y Council that t h i s t r i p was supposed t o be made
on h i s day o f f , and that payment of t h i s overtime could not be allowed. 2. A motion was made by Councilman F e r r i s , and seconded by Councilman Nix, that the Chief of Police
w i l l , on any vacancy i n h i s department, submit applications for the p o s i t i o n t o the C i t y Council, i n d i c a t i n g h i s choice o f the applicants, and w i l l be
permitted t o h i r e the applicant of h i s choice, unless t h i s applicant i s rejected by the C i t y Council. The vote i n favor was unanimous. 3. A motion was made by Councilman
F u l l e r , and seconded by Councilman Nix, that the C i t y Secretary be paid f o r the vacation time that he has been unable to take due t o lack o f help. The vote i n favor was
