AN ORDINANCE DISCONTINUING PARTICIPATION IN THE
SUPPLEMENTAL DEATH BENEFITS FUND OF THE TEXAS
MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM, AND ESTABLISHING A
EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THE ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS„ the City Council of the City of Euless has heretofore adopted an
ordinance under Section 852.004 of Subtitle C of Title 8, Government Code, as
amended thereinafter referred to as the "TR Act'), authorizing participation by the
City in the Supplemental Death Benefits Fund of the Texas Municipal retirement
System; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adapt an ordinance discontinuing
participation in said fund;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
F EULE S, TEXAS:
SECTION I
THAN by this ordinance the City Council discontinues participation in the
Supplemental Death Benefits Fund as authorized by the TMRS Act,
SECTION II
EFFECTIVE DATE, This ordinance becomes effective on January 1, 2011,
provided that a signed copy of this ordinance,has been furnished to the Texas Municipal
Retirement System prior that date,
PRESENTED AND APPROVED on First and Final Reading at a regular meeting
of the Euless City Council on the 31$, day of August 2010, by a vote of 7 ayes,
