HomeMy WebLinkAbout189 11-13-1962ORDINANCE NO. 189 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE PUBLISHED IN OFFICIAL CITY NEWSPAPER, TO BE PUB- LISHED AT LEAST ONE TIME IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE EULESS CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: I. THAT the territory particularly described by metes and bounds in Exhibit "A ", attached and made a part hereof, being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and lying adjacent to the City of Euless, is hereby annexed, brought within the Corporate Limits and made an integral part of the said City of Euless. H. THIS Ordinance is passed in amendment of all prior Ordinances in conflict herewith and, more particularly, this Ordinance expressly amends Ordi ante No. 171, heretofore passed on First Reading on the a4 day of , 1962, but as to all other ordinances, or sections thereof, not in direct conflict herewith, this Ordinance shall be and is hereby made cumulative. This Ordinance shall not amend or affect Ordinances No. 48, No. 49, No. 57, No. 64, No. 65, No. 66, No. 67 and No. 71. III. IT is not the intention of this Ordinance to annex, or attempt to annex, to the City of Euless any territory or land which has been, prior to this date, validly annexed to any other municipality. If any portion of the annexation declared herein shall for any reason be held void or unconstitu- tional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining area so annexed. IV. THAT this Ordinance shall be published at least one time in the Daily News- Texan, the official newspaper for the City of Euless, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of the Euless City Charter. V. THAT this Ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its first publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained. PRESENTED and given First Reading on the -131-1_ day of X OLI —eye 1962, at a 44 Meeting of the City council of the City of Euless, Texas; and given Second Reading, passed and approved on the I day of 196,, by a vote of Ayes and Nays at a Meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas. McAdoo, Jr., City Secretarf EXHIBIT "A" /4` - " BEGINNING at the intersection of the North line of County Road No. 3011 (Harwood -Old Dallas Road) and the East line of County Road No. 3129 (Euless- Grapevine Road), said point being in the North line of the area annexed to the City of Euless through the provisions of Ordinance No. 48; THENCE Northerly with the East line of said County Road No. 3129, a distance of approximately 10, 600 feet to the center of County Road No. 3036 (Wautauga -Smithfield -County Line Road); THENCE with said County Road No. 3036, Easterly approximately 13, 300 feet; Southerly approximately 900 feet and Easterly approximately 1,900 feet to the East line of Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE Southerly with the East line of Tarrant County approxi- mately 14, 000 feet to the North line of State Highway No. 183 as it existed prior to the construction of the Tunnel under the N -S Runway of Carter Field; THENCE Westerly with the North line of said State Highway No. 183 prior to construction of said Tunnel, parallel to the South line of the J. W. THOMAS SURVEY, and the A. BARNARD SURVEY a distance of approxi- mately 9, 600 feet to a point in the East line of County Road No. 3011 (Dallas -Old Harwood Road) a point in the area annexed to the City of Euless through the provisions of Ordinance No. 49; THENCE with the following courses and distances with the boundary line as described in said Ordinance No. 49, Northerly approximately 2, 000 feet; Easterly, 2,053 feet; Northerly 475 feet; Easterly 316.7 feet; Northerly 2,869.4 feet; Westerly approximately 801 feet; Northerly 1,411.1 feet and Westerly 1, 569.4 feet to the Northwest corner of said area, a point in the Easterly line of the Area annexed to the City of Euless as described in Ordinance No. 48; THENCE Northerly approximately 600 feet to the Northeast corner of the area described in Ordinance No. 48; THENCE continuing with the boundary line as described in said Ordinance No. 48, Westerly approximately 2, 689 feet; Southerly 1, 569 feet; Easterly approximately 2, 665 feet; Southerly approximately 400 feet and Westerly approximately 5, 300 feet to the Place of Beginning.
