AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE
ON TEXAS POWER & LIGHT COMPANY IN AN AMOUNT
EQUALING 2% OF ITS GROSS REVENUES FROM SALE
OF ELECTRICITY FROM INDUSTRIAL, GOVERNMENTAL,
AND MUNICIPAL BUSINESS IN THIS CITY.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance dated April 20, 19.flr3f, there was
granted to Texas Power & Light Company for a period of 50 years
the right, privilege, and franchise to use the streets, alleys,
and public places of the City of Euless, for the purpose of
supplying electricity; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance imposed 'an annual charge on
Texas Power & Light Company in a sum equal to two percent (2%)
of its gross revenues derived from the sale of electric energy
by said Company from its residential and commercial business
conducted within the corporate limits of said City; and
WHEREAS, Texas Power & Light Company has voluntarily
offered to pay a like percentage of its gross revenues derived
from its industrial, governmental,and municipal business con-
ducted within such City;
BE I -T- ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: In addition to the charge or tax imposed
by said Ordinance dated April 20, 1953, Texas Power & Light
Company shall pay to the City upon the date of acceptance of
this Ordinance the sum of $388.00 and shall hereafter include
in computing its annual payments of 2% of its gross revenues as
specified in the aforesaid Ordinance dated April 20, 1953, its
gross revenues derived from its industrial, governmental and
municipal business conducted within such City.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to
Section 6, Article XI entitled Franchise and Public Utilities
of the Official Charter of the City of Euless as adopted July
22, 1962.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force and effect from and after its passage and adoption
as provided by the Euless City Charter and the laws and statutes
of the State of Texas.
