HomeMy WebLinkAbout203 09-10-1963ORDINANCE NO. 203 AN CRDINANCE LEVYING A TAX AT THE RATE OF 70 CENT PER $100.00 VALUATICN ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR OF 1963 AND PRO- VIDING PENALTIES AND INTEREST FOR DELINQUENT TAXES AND LEGAL REMEDIES FCR THE COLLECTICN OF SUCH TAXES, PENALTIES AND INTEREST, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUMSS, TEXAS! I. That a tax is hereby levied upon all taxable property in the City of Euless, Texas, for the year of 1963, at the rate of seventy cents (700) per One Hundred ($100.00) valuation. II. That ten per cent (10%) of the 700 tax on each $100.00 valuation hereby levied shall be used for the following purposes: (a) To the extent of $19,052.00, the tax levied upon this section is for t' he purpose of paying interest and to maintain a sinking fund upon the indebtedness of the City of Euless. (b) To the extent of all taxes collected under the provision of this section in excess of $19,052.00 , the tax levied by this section is for the purpose of paying current general expenses of the City and for making permanent improvements therein. III . That ninety per cent (90%) of the 700 tax on each $100.00 valuation hereby levied shall be used for the purpose of paying current expenses of the City of Euless, Texas, and for making permanent improvements therein. IV. That penalties and interest shall accrue to the City of Euless as provided by Section 6, Article IX of the Euless City Charter and as authorized by the statutes of the State of Texas and that such penalties and interest as so provided are hereby adopted and shall accrue to the City of Euless when city taxes become delinquent. The City of Euless is hereby authorized to adopt any and all legal remedies provided by the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas and the Euless City Charter for the purpose of collecting delinquent taxes. PASSED AND APPROVED on the 10th day of September, 1963, by a vote of 4 Ayes and 0 Nays at a Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas. s/g W.G.
