HomeMy WebLinkAbout209 01-14-1964ORDINANCE NO. 209 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 33 IDENTIFIED AS THE TEMPORARY COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR CHANGE OF DESIGNATION IN CERTAIN AREA AND AMENDING ZONING MAP TO CONFORM WITH SUCH AMENDMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Zoning Commission of the City of Euless, after con- sideration of application from Noel J. Jones, Jr. , owner of the real property hereinafter described, situated within said City, and having held a public hearing thereon in which all interested persons and owners of property in the vicinity of said realty were given ample and sufficient opportunity to be heard in connection with said application, having recommended to the City Council a change in the zoning designation of said tract, and as by law provided, publication of a Notice of Final Hearing on such recommendation was made by publishing the same in the Daily News Texan the official newspaper of the City on the 1st day of October 1963, and after said public hearing being held in accordance with the said notice in which all owners of property in the City of Euless, Texas, were given ample and sufficient opportunity to be heard, the City Council deems it to be to the best interest of said City and its inhabitants that such recom- mendation be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: 1. IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Official District Zoning Map of the City of Euless, Texas, being a part of Ordinance No. 33, be amended to read as follows: THAT the designation of a tract of land in the City of Euless, Tarrant County, Texas, described as follows: Part of Block 1, J. E. Whitener Estate, Euless, Tarrant County, Texas, and being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a steel rod at the South- west corner of Block 1, J. E. Whitener Estate as recorded in Vol. 388 -1, Page 139, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, said beginning point being the intersection of the North R.O.W. line of Pipe Line Road (County Road #3005) with the East R.O.W. ITEM VI COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 14, 1964 line of South Main Street (County Road #3129); THENCE North 89 deg. 51 min. East along the North R.O.W. line of Pipe Line Road and the South line of Block 1, a distance of 63 5. 0 ft. to a steel rod for the Southeast corner of said Block 1; THENCE North 0 deg. 05 min. West along the East line of Block 1, 1238.0 ft. to a steel rod for its Northeast corner, said point being in the South R.O.W. line of Whitener Drive; THENCE West along the North line of said Block 1 and the South R.O.W. line of Whitener Drive 443.95 ft. to a steel rod for the Northeast corner of a one acre tract as recorded in Vol. 3826, Page 320, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE South along the East line of said one acre tract 228.0 ft. to a steel rod for it's Southeast corner; THENCE West 191. 05 ft. along the South line of said one acre tract to it's Southwest corner, said point being in the West line of Block 1; THENCE South with the West line of said Block 1, and the East R. 0. W. line of South Main Street 1010.0 ft. to the place of beginning and containing 17.047 acres of land, more or less, now zoned "R" Residential, be zoned "B ", Local Business, in accordance with Ordinances Nos. 33 and 153 and subsequent amendments thereto. 2. THIS ORDINANCE shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage as by law provided. PRESENTED AND GIVEN FIRST READING on the 26thday of November I 1963, at a Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas; and given Second Reading, passed and approved on the 14thday of January 19634 by a vote of 5 Ayes and 0 Nays at a Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas.
