February 21, 1961
A special called meeting of the Euless
City Council was held on February 21, 1961. Those present were Mayor Ernest
Mi l l ican, Councilmen Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris, H.M. Huffman, qnd Roy Braswell.
Mr. B i I I Jackson with the Southwestern
Laboratories and Mr. W. A. Elliot, Jr., City Engineer appeared before the City
Council to explain a new mixture being considered in our paving Ordinance
and is highly recommended by Mr. Jackson, it is 3" of good gravel, 2" of
crushed limestone, mixed propeely and compacted on a properly prepared sub-
base, this is to have a 1'—z" asphaltic toppigg. Mr. Jackson said that in
constructing this kind of a street as with any other we needed good engineering,
good materials and proper supervision with their laboratory making the nec-
essary tests and making core samples. H6 stated that it was cas.tomary for
the Developer to pay a fixed sum per lineal foot on the cost of residential
streets.

Motion was made by Eouncilman Braswell
and seconded by Councilman F u l l e r to approve the request for one Mercury
Vapor street light to be installed at Raider Drive and Pipe Line Road if this
request comes in the form of a letter from the School Board. All Councilmen
present voted in favor of this motion.
