Those present were Mayor M i 11 ican, Councilmen Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris, H.M. Huffman, and Roy Braswell. prayer by Councilman Huffman. , The Council meeting was opened with a 1. The minutes of regular Council meeting of February 14, 1961 and Special Council meeting of February 21, 1961 were read by the City Secretary and approved by the City Council. 2. Mr. Harry Cassel appeared before the City Council to discuss the work he had been doing for the City, patching streets i n Midway .Park and putting up street signs. The City Counci; 1 authorized- paying 'him $70.00 for 'the Street work, $12.,00,for repairing and putting up street signs'and $14.00 to furnish the lumber, paint and labor i n making two barricades to be used in his street repair work. The City is to pay S.R.O. Asphalt V3.75-for additional asphalt used in making the street repairs. Motion was made by Councilman Braswell and seconded by Councilman Ferris that these be, approved f o r payment. A l l Councilman present ,voted in favor of this motion. 3. Motion was made by Counoilman F u l l e r ,and seconded by Councilman Braswell that the City of Euless extend its option of getting the Hurst - Euless- Bedford School Tax Department to do the,Tax Assessing and to prepare the Tax Rolla' for the City of Euless, for 1961, with the understanding that in cases where the Tax valuation are increased that notices be sent to the tax payers so that they can appear before the Board of Equalization ff _they so des i.re. A l l Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion. Motion was made by Gounci Iman Ferris and seconded by Councilman Fuller that when a new Policeman is hired that he be provided with a $100.00 credit in his uniform account and then an additional $50.00 credit after each 6 months has elapsed. This cannot be paid to the policeman but must be paid to the company supplying the uniforms for him. The $100.00 credit is to put the man in uniform to start and the $50.00 credit each 6 months is to maintain him with proper uniforms at all times. A I I Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion. (page Two, Regular Meeting, Euless City Council, February 28, 1961) 5. The City Council discussed the police reserve officers wearing uniforms. They must pay for the uniforms themselves. They can `wear dress clothes, or they can wear shirt and pants of blue or grey army twill. They can wear black ties and caps if they'so- desire. 6. The City - Council discussed the concrete on the asphalt at 610 Mills Drive. The City Secretary is instructed to take up with the people that put this concrete on the street and have them remove it. 7. Motion was made by Councilman Braswell and slaconded by Councilman Huffman to amend paving Ordinance No. 121 to permit a mixture of 3" of good gravel and 3" of crushed limestone properly mixed. This is to be compacted on -a properly prepared roadbed and is to b e topped with 1LI' of asphaltic mixture on residential streets and 2" of as- phaltic mixture on thoroughfares streets at the discretion of the City Council. All Councilmen present voted in favor of this.motion. The City Council discussed the use of a policeman on Sunday as a dispatcher, it was decided that it would be cheaper to hire some one each Sunday to serve as dispatcher. Duckett`-$790 for 9'loads of gravel and spreading i't out on.the parking lot on-the South side of the Fire Station and City Hall and on the Driveway on the'East side of the Fire Station.
