AN ORDINANCE ALTERING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS
ESTABLISHED FOR VEHICLES UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 8 OF ARTICLE 827a, VERNON'S TEXAS PENAL CODE,
UPON THE BASIS OF AN ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC INVEST-
IGATION UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, OR PARTS
THEREOF, WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF-
EULESS, TEXAS, AS SET OUT IN THE ORDINANCE; AND PROV
VIDING A PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00 FOR-
VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, Section 8 of Article 827a, Vernonts Penal Code of the
State of Texas, provides that whenever the govern ing body of the City
shall determine upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investi-
gation that any prima facie speed therein set forth is greater or less
than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist at any
intersection. or other place or upon any part of a street or highway,
with the City taking into consideration the width and condition of the
pavement and other circumstances on such portion of said street or high-
way, as well as the usual traffic thereon, said govern body may deter-
mine and declare a reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit thereat
or thereon by the passage of an ordinance, which shall be effective Vb:p
appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected at such intersect-
ion or other place or part of the street or highway, now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Euless, Texast
SECTION 1.Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation
heretofore made as authorized by the provisions of Section 8
of Article 827a, Vernon's Texas Penal Code, the following
prima facie speed limits hereafter indicated for vehicles are
hereby determined and declared to be reasonable and safe; and
such speed limits are hereby fixed at the rate of speed in-
dicated for vehicles traveling upon the named streets and high-
ways, or parts thereof, described as follows:

Euless, Texas
(a) From Station 355+00 (2.920 miles South of Euless North
city limits), Southerly 0.246 miles to Station 368+00,
at 60 miles per hour.
(b) From Station 368+00 (3.166 miles south of the Euless North
city limits), Southerly 0.265 miles to Station 382+00 at
55 miles per hour.
(c) From Station 382 +00 (0.599 miles North of the Euless
South City Limits), Southerly 0.284 miles to Station
397+00 at 40 miles per hour.

(d) From Station 397 +00 (0.315 mil *e North of the
Euless South City Limits), Southerly 0.315
miles to Station 418.62 (South City Limits of
Euless, at 55 miles per hour.
SECTTON 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordin-
ance shall be deemed guilty of a mindemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not more
than two hundred ($200.00) dollars.
