Euless City Council
March 14, 1961
The regular meeting of the Euless City
Council was held on March 14, 1961. Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr
Councilmen Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris, Roy Braswell, and H. M. Huffman.

The minutes of the regular council meeting of
February 28, 1961, were read by the Assistant City Secretary and corrected
concerning Item No. 5. It should have read, "a motion was made by Councilman
Ferris and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the reserve police officers
w i l l buy their own uniforms. They can wear dress clothes, or they can wear
a shirt and pants of blue or grey army twill. They can wear black ties and
caps, if they so desire".

The Council discussed with Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Cherry the problem of increasing the size of their house to comply with
Ordinance No. 139. It was decided they must make the house 925 square feet.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the request of Mr. A. V. Hammett to
open a beauty shop in his residence in Midway Park be denied. A I I Councilmen
present voted in favor of this motion.
4.
A motion was made by Councilman Fuller,
and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the final plat of Oakwood Terrace
Addition East, Second Section, be approved. A l l Councilmen present voted
in favor of this motion.
5.
A motion was made by Councilman Huffman,
and seconded by Councilman Braswell, that the final plat of Midway Park Addition
No. 3 be approved subject to the following conditions. That, Midway Drive be
paved forty feet wide west of the intersection of Ector Drive. That Aransas
Drive be forty foot wide from the present pavement to Harwood Drive. That
Midway Drive and Aransas Drive be designated as thoroughfare streets and be
topped by two inches of asphaltic mixture. And that a curb and gutter be
laid aliong the south side of Harwood Drive within the limits of the plat.
All Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion.

A motion was made by Councilman Ferris,
and seconded by Councilman Huffman, that the request of Mr. Smart to put a
trailer house back of his place of business on Huffman Drive, to be lived
in by an employee, be denied. All Councilmen present voted in favor of this
motion.
7.
A motion was made by Councilman Fuller,
and seconded by Councilman Huffman, that the City Attorney write a letter to
Mr. Charles F. Hinton requesting that he let the Council know by return mail
when he will pave the portion of Fuller Drive, north of and adjacent to
Lots 1, 2, and 3, Block 7, Westwood Village Addition. All Councilmen present
voted in favor of this motion.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the Chief of Police ask Mr. Forrester
to remove the building material from Village Drive in Westwood Village
Addition. All Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion.

Mayor Millican called to the attention of
the Council members a resolution providing that the City Councils of the
Municipal Corporations located in the Fort Worth Metropolitan area be
requested to join in strongly uging that all business establishments dealing
in non - essential goods or services remain closed on Sunday.
