Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
March 28, 1961
The regular meeting of the Euless City
Council and a public hearing was held on March 28, 1961. Present were Mayor
Ernest Millican, Jr., Councilmen Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris, Roy Braswell, and
H. M. Huffman.

The Council meeting was opened with a

The minutes of the regular council meeting
of March 14, 1961, were read by the Assistant City Secretary and approved by
the Council.

A motion was made by Councilman Ferris,
and seconded by Councilman Braswell, to approve Ordinance No. 140 and the
agreement approving installation of flashing signals at the intersection of
Highway No. 183 and FM157. A l l Councilmen present voted in favor of t h i s
motion.

The Council discussed utilities in the
right -of -way of FM157 from Highway No. 183 to the south city limits. The
plat was given to Councilman Huffman for investigation and return to City
Hall.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the new pumper truck unit no. 53 be
accepted as to meeting specifications of the Fire Chief. All Councilmen
present voted in favor of this motion.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by councilman Ferris, that Resolution No. 38 be adopted at a rate
of interest not to exceed five percent per annum. All Councilmen present
voted in favor of this motion.

Fuller, to approve rezoning on the
Fuller and Brown
property
described
by metes and
bounds on the Notice of Public Hearing set for March
1 8 , 1961.

behalf of
the property
owners within two hundred feet of
this property were
Mrs.
Fredrick
Poole, Mr. and
Mrs. Melvin Huett, and Mr. Bobby
Skiles.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the new pumper truck unit no. 53 be

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that an incandescent light be reinstalled
at the corner of East Alexander and South Main Street. All Councilmen
present voted in favor of this motion.

In his Finance Reprot, Councilman Fuller
explained payments on the new fire truck. Also a motion was made by Councilman
Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Huffman, that the position of Assistant City
Secretary be assumed by Mrs. J. S. Thompson with a five day work week at
$1.25 per hour rate of pay. This five day work week may be varied to cover
Saturdays during the period when Mr. Flippo is unable to work full time,
also to cover the hours of the City Council meetings. All Councilmen
present voted in favor of this motion.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that Mr. McAdoo be reimbursed for his
thirty -six hours of overtime at his regular rate of pay or be given the
time off at the discretion of the Chief of Police. All Councilmen present
voted in favor of this motion.
