HomeMy WebLinkAbout250 06-08-1965ORDINANCE NO. 250 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT NOTICE BE GIVEN AND PUBLICATION BE MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 6 OF ARTICLE 970(A) ENTITLED MUNICIPAL ANNEXATION ACT, AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFEC- TIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: I. That by Resolution No. _ 8 adopted on the 23rdday of February, 1965, the Euless City Council did.wder that a public hearing be held at 6:00 ®'clock p.m. on the , h ay of *m4i, 1965, in the Council Chamber of do Ruless City Hall; that in a©aUiiance with such Resolution public notice of hearing on such proposed annexation was given by publication in the Euless Hearld on the __15iay of March, 1965; that such public hearing having been held at 6:00 o'clock p.m. on the 13th day of 11dpr4k, 1965, and that all interested pares, their agents and attorneys were given an opportunity to make known WW *Woetioss to such proposed annexation and all who appeWW lware auefully I em, d, and all protests and objections having been made and duty considered by the City Council, same are hereby overruled and denied. II . That the territory particularly described by metes and board s in RidaWt W, attached and made a part hereof, being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and lying adjacent to the City of Euless, is hereby annexed, brought within the Corporate Limits and made an integral part of the said City of Euless. III. It is not the intention of this Ordinance to annex, or attempt to annex, to the City of Euless any territory or land which has been prior to this date, validly annexed to any other municipality. If any portion of the annexation declared herein shall for any reason be held void or unconstitu- tional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining area so annexed. t IV. This Ordinance shall be published at least one time in the Euless Hearld, the official newspaper for the City of Euless, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of the Euless City Charter. V. That this Ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its first publication as aforesaid, and it Is so ordained. PRESENTED and given First Reading on the 1-3t h day of April 1965, at a resmlar meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas; and given Second Reading, passed and approved on the 8th day of 1965, by a vote of _ayes and ____Q _nays at a row I -or meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas.
