is a gem in the heart of our
city! Thanks to our citizens

Confused About Medicare?
December 15, 9 a.m.
Are you worried about the new changes to Medicare
in 2011? Get your questions answered. David Thomp-
son with Senior Benefits Group will be at Simmons
Senior Center. Registration is required.
(Flood continued from page 1)
he left his home once the water inside had risen to his
waist.
This event was deemed a 100 -year flood. A 100 -year
flood has a 1% chance of occurance, but when it does,
causes powerful damage. Damage was evident in
several Euless parks including Bob Eden, Trailwood,
Villages of Bear Creek, the Preserve and the Dog Park.
Much of Euless' parkland is located in flood plain, so
flooding from time to time is naturally expected.
Playgrounds were temporarily closed due to structural
damage also caused by the flooding.
Please visit www.Flickr.com/CityofEuless for pictures
of some of the flooding that occurred. If you have your
own pictures to share, please add them to the group.
On a side note, the City of Euless would like to extend
our gratitude to members of the Community Emergency
Response Team (CERT) who conducted damage assess-
ments the next day throughout Euless. These volunteers
made it possible to keep our police officers on the street
to patrol and protect our residents. Euless is very fortu-
nate to have such a dedicated group of volunteers that
continually give back to the community.

Christmas Treecycling Event
January 8, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Midway Park, 300 W. Midway Dr.
Stay green after the Holidays and "treecycle"
your live Christmas tree.
The trees are chipped and
turned into mulch that is
used throughout the year in
Euless parks and medians.
It smells FabEuless and re -
purposes an item that
would otherwise be sent to
the landfill. Instead of plac-
ing your tree at the curb,
please bring it to the drop
off site at Midway Park.
After that, please join
us for the mulching
demonstration on January 10. You may fill a bag
with mulch for use in your own garden. In
addition, free hot dogs and drinks are available for
participants. Please call 817-685-1650 for details.
Treecycling Tips:
• Bring live trees only that are not flocked
• Remove all ornaments and lights
• Remove plastic bags before dropping off
• B.Y.O.Bag to the event to take mulch home
• Come hungry to the Treecycling event!
