HomeMy WebLinkAboutEuless Today 01/20131013 January
Dear Citizens,
What a great
l start to an
exciting new
year! The Town
Hall meetings
are always a great place to
learn about what's going on
in Euless and what's planned
for 2013.
The new recycling program
for Euless will allow
residents to choose how they
want to recycle. No other city
in Texas allows residents the
choice of a blue bag, bin or
cart. I am proud we are able
to offer this option to you
and hope that whatever
option you choose, you
choose to recycle.
Please visit the Open House
at the Family Life Center.
Our staff opens the doors
and lets you tour the center,
visit with instructors and you
can even try out some classes
while you're there. It's a great
way to make a good attempt
at your New Year's
resolutions.

Euless Recycling A -La- "Cart"
Euless was the first
"'a'' Tarrant County
order?
. - city to implement
recycling in
apartments. In
that same year,
Euless began the
blue bag recycling
program. Since
then, Euless has
worked to increase
recycling participation, while maintaining a low
recycling rate. Now, Euless again will work
towards an innovative recycling program that
will make recycling more convenient for our
residents and reduce waste. We believe this to be
the first hybrid recycling program in all of Texas.
A -La- "Cart" Menu
This menu was created with sustainable
recycling as the daily special. This a -la -"cart"
menu is contrasting and well balanced to
appease even the most finicky resident. Place
your order by phone by calling 817-685-1825
or online at www.eulesstx.gov/recycling. Free
delivery.
BaseRate..................................................$1.15
This mouthwatering rate remains one of the lowest
in northeast Tarrant County.
Senior Base Rate...........................................$.58
Call when you turn 65 to request this rate.
Prepared in cooperation with the North Central
Texas Council of Governments through funding
from the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality.
For service beginning March 1, 2013, you can choose
the method of recycling that works best for you. You
may choose to continue participating in the blue bag
recycling program. You may also request either an
18 -gallon recycling bin or a 65 -gallon recycling cart
that will be delivered to your home.
Choice - You may choose to recycle in a blue bag,
bin or cart. It is simply a matter of what method
works best for your household.
Cost efficient - If you choose to keep your rate as one
of the lowest in the region, you may continue using
blue bags and utilize the lowest rate option.
Convenience - If you choose to use a bin or cart, it
will be delivered to your curb upon request.
ADDITIONAL SIDES
For a low monthly rate, you can choose the recycling
container that suits your household the best. Local
artisans will deliver your bin or cart to your home in
February. You must recycle in blue bags or official
CWD provided containers.
Blue Bags ........................................................Base Rate
Feast your eyes on classical blue bags. Recycling with these
tantalizing blue bags cost nothing more than purchasing
blue bags from your Euless grocery or home improvement
stores.
18 -gallon recycling bin..................Base Rate +$1.30
Remarkably decadent eighteen gallon bins gratify the
smaller sized family. With a smooth texture, light and
compact, they can easily be carried to the curb without
taking up too much space in your garage
65 -gallon recycling carts.................Base Rate +$1.30
The robust sixty-five gallon carts have lip -smacking lids
and two wheels for zippy ease in mobility to the street. This
delish option serves the family on the go and satisfies their
appetite for recycling with a small footprint, yet large
capacity.

Christmas Treecycling Event
January 5, 10 a.m. - noon
Midway Park, 300 W. Midway Dr.
Stay green after the Holidays and "tree -
cycle" your live Christmas tree. The trees will
be chipped and turned into mulch that is
used throughout the year in Euless parks
and medians. It smells FabEuless and repurposes an item that
would otherwise be sent to the landfill. So instead of placing
your tree at the curb, please bring it to the drop off site at Midway
Park between Dec. 26 and Jan. 5. Please join us for a mulching
demonstration on Jan. 5. You may fill a bag with mulch for use
in your own garden. In addition, free hot dogs and drinks are
available for participants. Please call 817-685-1650 for details.
Treecycling Tips:
• Bring live trees only that are not flocked
• Remove all ornaments and lights
• Remove plastic bags before dropping off
• B.Y.O.Bag to the event to take mulch home
• Come hungry to the Treecycling event!
