A special called meeting of the Euless City
Council was held on May 30, 1961. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen
Bobby Fuller, Rory Braswell, H. M. Huffman, Billy Byers and Billy Owens.
1.
N& George T. Jett, 5021 Sherwood Drive,
River Oaks, Texas, appeared before the City Council for apply for the position
of Building, Plumbing, Electrical and Street Inspector for the City of Euless.
MC Jett stated that he held a similar position at River Oaks in Fort Worth
working under the Public Works Director, Fred Harrison. 1b stated that their
department also handled garbage pickups and water and sewer. His salary
there is $425.00 per month and he is furnished a pickup to drive, and that he
would be willing to take this position and try it out, furnishing his own
transportation for $500.00 per month to start. The City Council advised Mr.
Jett that they would take his application under consideration and advise him
of their decision.

t1r. Harry Cassell appeared before the City
Council asking for the position of maintenance and repair work of the City as
he felt that possibly he did not have the experience to fill the position of
inspector, but that he knew how to handle repairs and maintenance.

A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell, that Me Harry Cassell be paid $8.00 for the
additional cost of hauling the asphalt mixture to be used for street repairs.
All Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion.
