HomeMy WebLinkAbout328 03-26-1968ORDINANCE NO. 328 AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE CITY COUNCILS OF EULESS AND BEDFORD HAVE AGREED TO SIMULTANEOUSLY PASS THIS ORDINANCE DEFINING, CLARIFYING AND ESTABLISH- ING THE COMMON CITY LIMIT LINE AND BOUNDARY BETWEEN SAID TWO MUNICIPALITIES; PROVIDING THAT ANY ANNEXATION, CITY LIMIT MAP OR OTHER DESCRIPTION OF THE CITY LIMIT LINE OF THE CITY OF EULESS NOT CONSISTENT WITH THE AGREED BOUNDARY SET FORTH IN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE AMENDED, CHANGED AND ADJUSTED TO MEET AND CONFORM TO THE AGREED CITY LIMIT LINE AND COMMON BOUNDARY SET FORTH IN THIS ORDINANCE; DETERMINING THAT SUCH BOUNDARY LINE AGREEMENT AND DETERMINATION HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED PURSUANT TO AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE EULESS CITY CHARTER AND APPLICABLE STATUTES OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PUBLISHED AS REQUIRED BY LAW AND THE EULESS CITY CHARTER; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Euless City Council has determined that it is to the mutual interest and benefit of the City of Euless and the City of Bedford to define, clarify and establish a common boundary and city limit line according to the agreed description set forth in this Ordinance, and WHEREAS, the Euless City Council has determined it to be to the best interest of the City of Euless to find and provide that any annexation, city limit map or other description of the city limit line of the City of Euless, not consistent with the agreed boundary set forth in this Ordinance, shall be amended, changed and adjusted to meet and conform to the agreed city limit line and common boundary set forth in this Ordinance, and WHEREAS, The Euless City Council finds that such boundary line agreement and determination has been accomplished and made pursuant to and in compliance with the Euless City Charter and the applicable statutes of the State of Texas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EULESS CITY COUNCIL: I. That the Euless city limit line, contiguous and abutting the City of Bedford, shall be and is hereby determined to be along the line set forth in the attached Exhibit "A" , which Exhibit is incorporated herein by re- ference and made a part of this Ordinance. Ii. Any annexation, city limit map or other description of the city limit line of the City of Euless inconsistent with the agreed boundary and city limit line described in the attached Exhibit "A" shall be and is hereby amended, changed and adjusted to meet and conform to such agreed common boundary between the City of Euless and the City of Bedford as described in the attached Exhibit "A" . III. This Ordinance shall be published at least one time in the official newspaper of the City of Euless, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of the Euless City Charter. IV. This Ordinance shall become effective and. be in full force and effect upon its final passage and publication as required by law and the Euless City Charter. PRESENTED and given First Reading on the 12th day of March , 1968, at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, and given Second Reading, passed and approved on the 26th day of March , 1968, by a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas.
