HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-06-05 (special called)93 Call ed Meeting Euless City Council June 5, 1961 A special called meeting of the Euless City Council was held on June 5, 1961. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen Bobby Fuller, Roy Braswell, H. M. Huffman, and Billy Byers. Visitors present were Messrs. Paul Heard, W. A. Elliott, Jr., and Bob Strickland. 1. A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and seconded by Councilman Braswell , to approve and adopt Ordinance No. 147. Ordinance No. 147 is an ordinance amendinq Zoning Ordinance No. 33 and Planning Qrdinance No. 40 and is to be known as the Proposed Subdivision Rules and Regulations, City Gf Euless, Texas. All Councilmen present voted in favor o f this motion. 2. A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and seconded by Councilman Braswell, that Ordinance No. 148 be approved and adopted. Ordinance No. 148 is an ordinance amending Street Ordinance No. 121 and is to be known as the Storm Water Design Standards o f the City o f Euless, Texas. It will permit six inch curbs, twelve inch by thirty inch when used in connection with or without propert storm sewer drainage at the discretion o f the Cit-y Council. Mr. Paul Heard of Tri-Cities Development Corporation, appeared before the City Council requesting permission to use six inch curbs in the Oakwood Terrace East Addition, Second Section, just recently approved. All Councilmen present 4. The City Council discussed the complaints about high weeds and trash on Lot 10, Alexander-Cullum Addition, belonging to Mrs. 0. I. Longfellow, 6416 Ridgemount Road, Dallas, Texas. This lot is covered with high weeds and trash. The City Attorney is to write her that this is a violation ,of Ordinance No. 93 and must be cleaned up immediately. Co I in (Page Two, Regular Meeting, Euless City Council, June 5, 1961) Mr. Bob Strickland, 2700 Mission Street, Fort Worth, telephone WA6 -1837, appeared before the City Council to apply for the position of City Inspector of building, plumbing, electrical, and streets. He stated that he is a master plumber and works for himself, but has had no experience in anything but plumbing. Mr. Strickland stated that he would take the position for $420.00 per month to start. The Council informed him that they would let him know their decision. !. I The City Council interviewed Mr. G. D. McAdoo, Jr., first shift dispatcher for the Police Department. He stated he had over five years experience building homes where all work was done on sub- contracts.
