Minutes
April 11, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
Chairwoman, Barbara Collier, called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. The meeting was
held at Euless City Hall at 201 N. Ector Drive, Euless.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Bill Byers, Weldon Cannon, Barbara Collier, Iris Elliott, Leon Hogg, Norma Lively, Marilyn
Long, Don Martin, Dave Massey, Veva Lou Massey, Robert Nail, Gary Parker, Helen
Payton, Faye Stinneford, Helen Voss, Mavy Wright and Linda Pool.
VISITORS PRESENT
Mary Cinquemani
STAFF PRESENT
Recreation Manager Suzanne Hendrickson and Projects Coordinator Ofa Faiva-Siale.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Gary Parker made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Helen Voss seconded the
motion, motion approved.
TREASURER'S REPORT
The previous balance was $11,626.74. There was a deposit of $21 from the money jar,
leaving a current balance of $11,647.74.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Docent Reports / Recruitment—Mavy Wright
a. Andy Weinzapfel did a presentation about "Historic Trees" in the area during open
house. About 15 people visited the Museum and about three people visited the
Fuller House.
b. Members discussed various benefits and concerns about the amount of effort and
finances spent on open house programs relative to results of all the effort being
made. Various options were discussed.
c. Leon Hogg suggested putting out an A -frame leaner board at various City parks
with the Museum open house days and hours. Mr. Hogg will work with staff on
acquiring one. Perhaps the sign could be moved around the City periodically for
advertisement purposes. It was mentioned that the smaller open house signs might
be too hard to see and not as effective.
2. Acquisition s—BiII Byers reported that David and Shirley Byers donated an old washer
machine to the museum.

4. Website 1 Facebook--No Report.
5. Heritage Park—Gary Parker reported that the City is working on the Blacksmith Shop
and work is coming along great.
6. Local Historical Marker—No Report.
7. Publicity—No Report.
8. Plaque—If anyone would like to donate on behalf of Leah Bennet, Faye Stinneford will
take the plaque and have memorials and/or honorariums added to the plaque.
9. Display Signs—No Report.
10. Oral History1 Photography—No Report.
11. Artifact Recovery—No Report.
12. Historical Albums—Marilyn Long will schedule a work day as there's a lot of material
piling up that needs to be organized.
13. Texas State Historical Marker Application—Weldon Cannon reported that the Sikh
Church has not been responsive to paying for the "Early Education" Texas State
Historical Marker as was previously discussed. At present the project is on hold until
further notice.
COMMITTEE / OTHER REPORTS
1. Members were saddened by the news of Leah Bennett's passing. After a brief
discussion, Faye Stinneford made a motion to donate $50 to the Euless Fire Academy
in Ms. Bennett's name. Helen Voss seconded the motion. No one opposed, motion
carried.
2. Andy Weinzapfel will be giving his "Historic Tree" presentation in the Tree Giveaway
tent during Arbor Daze. There's no need for a Committee table or special set up at the
event. Various members may attend to hand out information about Heritage Park.
3. Helen Voss inquired about possibly including other elementary schools in the programs
run by the Committee. Various ideas were discussed to include all the elementary
schools in the area in future programs.
4. Weldon Cannon spoke at an event at the Top of the Hill Terrace recently. He spoke
about the Bedford Reunion to approximately 200 people. Mr. Cannon needs a new
name tag.

5. Visitor Mary Cinquemani submitted an application to become a member of the
Committee. She heard about the Committee at the annual Board and Commission
Dinner.
ADJOURNMENT
Norma Lively made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Faye Stinneford seconded the
motion. Motion approved.
The meeting adjourned at 11:02 a.m.
