Vice -Chairman Allan Gibbs called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Vice -Chairman Allan Gibbs asked for a motion to be made to accept
the minutes of the March 3, 2016 meeting. Carol Kveck made the motion to accept the minutes and Jim
Hamilton seconded the motion.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
HEB READS:
Eric Terry introduced Kiera Elledge, Coordinator of Libraries and STEM Education for HEBISD. Kiera
reported on HEB Reads, the collaborative summer reading program planned for the cities of Hurst, Euless,
Bedford, and HEBISD. The goal of HEB Reads is to prevent "summer slide" (decline in reading levels over the
summer).
The library staff will also be providing access to 3 school libraries each week over the summer.
LIBRARY REPORT & EVENTS:
Stats for the month continue to be good.
Over 200 attended the Hard Night's Day performance on April 1.
The STEAM Camp Spring Break programs had a large turnout.
87 attended Ocean Adventures: Great White Shark on April 2.
Eric commented on upcoming April library events.
The Euless Library Foundation Spring Book Sale will be April 8-10.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Allan Gibbs commented on the Belk Charity Day card sales.
2. Allan Gibbs commented on the current ELF project, the Garden Lobby.
3. Carol Kveck commented that she is looking forward to HEB Reads.
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
LuAnn Portugal commented on city events and development projects in the city.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by
Carol Kveck. The meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
