AN ORDINANCE DEANNEXING AND DISCONTINUING CERTAIN TERRITORY
OF AND FROM THE CITY OF EULESS, SUCH TERRITORY TO BE SIMULT-
ANEOUSLY ANNEXED BY THE CITY OF,BEDFORD, TEXAS; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a certain tract of land hereinafter described, being a part
of the corporate limits of.the City of Euless, Texas, lies on the north side
of the Interstate Spur 350 and is physically bounded on three sides by the
corporate limits of Bedford, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the City of Bedford, Texas, has requested that the City of
Euless deannex such hereinafter described tract so that said tract may be
annexed by the City of Bedford, and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless has determined that said tract is separa-
ted from other areas of the City of Euless by Spur 350 and the corporate
limits of the City of Bedford and cannot be economically served with water,
sewer and other city services, and
.WHEREAS, said land is vacant, uninhabited and can be readily served
with municipal services by the City of Bedford as the general area around
said tract develops..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS:
That the following described tract be deannexed and discontinued as
a part of the City of Euless, Texas:
BEGINNING at a point 785 feet West of the intersection of the
West right -of -way line of F. M. Highway 157 and the North line
of County Road No. 3020, as said North line existed prior to the
construction of Interstate Spur 350; said beginning point also
being the Southeast corner of a six (6) acre tract as described
in Warranty Deed dated August 15, 1936, recorded in Vol. 1303,
Page 249, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
Thence North along and with the East boundary line of said six
(6) acre tract, same being described in the City of Euless
Ordinance No. 55, a distance of 665 feet, more or less, to its
Northeast corner;
THENCE West along and with the North line of said six (6) acre
tract, same being described in City of Euless Ordinance No. 55,
a distance of 395 feet, more or less, to its Northwest corner;
THENCE South along and with the West line of said six (6) acre
tract, same being described in City of Euless Ordinance No. 55,
a distance of 665 feet, more or less, to its Southwest corner,
same being on the North R.O.W. line of County Road No. 3020;
THENCE East along and with the North line of said County Road
No. 3020, a distance of 395 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning.
That such discontinuance and deannexation shall become effective upon
the adoption of this Ordinance and simultaneously upon the annexation of
said tract by the City of Bedford, Texas. That said tract be striclen from
the tax rolls of the City of Euless, Texas, forthwith upon the adoption of
this Ordinance and simultaneous annexation by appropriate ordinance of said
tract by the City of Bedford, Texas.
It is not the intention of this Ordinance to deannex or discontinue
any territory located within the corporate limits of the City of Euless,
Texas, save and except the territory herein specifically described.
IV.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after
its second and final reading by the Euless City Council.
PRESENTED and given First Reading on the 24th day of February ,
1970, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless,
Texas, and given Second Reading passed and approved on the 10th day of
March
, 1970, by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas.
