Crews are putting new as- phalt on tlie section from Lit- tle Bear Creek to Harwood Road. Work on one lane on the east side is complkted; work on the other four lanes will be- gin today. Construction should take less than a week. "It was starting to show some signs of deterioration, and it is a major roadway and we want to catch it before it got into bad shape," Public Works Director Ron Young said. "It will provide a smoother riding. surgce and extend the life d it." The city will pay $250,000 for materials. Tarrant County will provide labor and equip- ment. The portion of M& Street south of Texas 10 was repaved a couple of years ago. The stretch north of Little Bear Creek is concrete and does not need to be repaved, officials said.
