No damage was immediately reported, "nor would there be any expected for a magnitude-3 earthquake," said Dale Grant, a geophysicist at the survey's National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo. The quake was centered about five miles north-northwest of Irving. "You would have to get up to around magnitude 4 or greater to see real damage," Grant said. "That would be 10 times stronger than a magnitude 3." Grant said he had no explanation for Tuesday's quake but did note that it was the latest "in a continuing series" of small quakes in North Texas. Similar earthquakes were reported in September and November, according to the agency. DISTRIBUTED TO: PAGE_LoF_L ;l'IAYOR CITYCNCL COLLINS CITYATTNY W.
