Davis | NBC 5 News 287197251Seven people and two pets safely escape a fire at a Euless home that took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish Wednesday morning, authorities say. Wednesday, Dec 31, 2014 • Updated at 7:28 AM CST Authorities said a fire forced a Euless family out of their home early Wednesday morning. Firefighters said the fire was fully involved when they arrived at the home in the 300 block of West Wood Drive at about 3 a.m. "They had quite a bit of a firefight to deal with to get this fire knocked down," Euless Fire Department Chief Wes Rhodes said. "It took about 30 minutes to get it knocked down." Rhodes said seven people — believed to be a family and visiting relatives — and two small dogs safely escaped the home. "The Red Cross was notified for the family," Rhodes said. "They are being taken care of now. We got them out of the weather as much as we could." One man was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution after he was having trouble breathing, Rhodes said. He was alert and talking with paramedics. "Just a terrible loss," Rhodes said. "But the good thing is everybody is OK, the pets are OK and you can replace property." Fire investigators don't know the cause of the fire yet, but they said it's likely accidental. Tim Glaze, tglaze@starlocalmedia.com | 0 comments DALLAS --The body of missing Little Elm woman Tiffany Kelly has been found, according to officials in Dallas and Euless. Dive teams discovered a body at Lake Buchanan in Dallas last week, according to Detective Troy Murphree with the Euless Police Department. The body was identified as Kelly, 33, who was reported missing by her mother in November after last being seen at a Waffle House in Euless. The cause of death is undetermined, Murphree said. “We’re waiting for the results from the medical examiner before we make any speculation or statements,” said Detective Edgar Hurtado with the EPD. “There will also be a toxicology report in the coming weeks.” Kelly was last seen leaving the Waffle House on Nov. 18 in her silver Pontiac G5 coupe. Kelly, who lives with her mother and daughter in Little Elm, frequently made trips to Euless to visit friends, sources said. Surveillance cameras at the restaurant show Kelly driving away that day in her car. According to Joan Foster, Kelly’s mother, Kelly was scheduled to pick up her sons in Oklahoma City on Nov. 21. The day came and her sons said she never showed up. Foster also said that Kelly takes medication for bipolar disorder, and when there was no activity on Kelly’s cellphone or debit card for several days, Foster believed her daughter could be “in grave danger.” For continuing coverage of the Tiffany Kelly case, visit starlocalmedia.com.
