Bobby F u l l e r , Roy Braswell, H. M. Huffman, B i l l y Byers, and B i l l y Owens. The council meeting was opened w i t h a . prayer by Councilman F u l l e r . 1. The minutes of
t h e r e g u l a r c o u n c i l meeting o f August 8, 1961, were read by the C i t y Secretary and approved by the Council. 2. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded
by Councilman, that the C i t y Council nominate f i f t e e n c i t i z e n s of Euless, leaving f i v e a d d i t i o n a l spaces for w r i t -i n candidates t o work w i t h the
C i t y Council i n w r i t i n g the Home Rule Charter f o r the City of Euless. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor of t h i s motion. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Owens,
and seconded by Councilman Byers, to approve and adopt Ordinance No. 153. Ordinance No. 153 amends Planning and Zoning Ordinance No. 33 by adding c e r t a i n d e f i n i t i o n s
f o r providing duplex and apartment use d i s t r i c t s and regulating location, size, l o t coverage and frontage of buildings so erected i n duplex and apartment use d i s t i r
i c t s . A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i s motion. 4. A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and seconded by Councilman F u l l e r , t h a t the C i t y of Euless
turn the tax c o l l e c t i n g of c i t y taxes over to the Tax Collector for the Hurst-Euless School D i s t r i c t to do the c o l l e c t i n g as well as the assessing, the c
o l l e c t i n g to run concurrently w i t h the assessing. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i s motion. 5. The C i t y Council discussed the construction of s t r e
e t s i n new housing additions, inasmuch as other c i t i e s charge f i v e cents per l i n e a l foot on s t r e e t construction i n new additions. I t was decided t o charge f i
v e cents per foot. 6. M r . Hugh Waite appeared before the C i t y Council t o discuss the operation of the i n s p e c t i o n s e r v i c e i n the C i t y of Euless. He said that
i t would cause some hardships on them, but he thought it was a good thing.
