Anderson, Councilmen Bobby F u l l e r , B i l l y Byers, and H. M. Huffman. 7 . A motion was made by Councilman F u l l e r , and seconded by Councilman Byers, that Mayor J. S . Anderson be authorized t o sign a note for $5000.00 a t f i v e percent i n t e r e s t a t the Hurst State Bank, Hurst, Texas, the proceeds of t h i s note to be credited to the General Fund account of the C i t y of Euless. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor o f t h i s motion. 2. A motion was made by Councilman F u l l e r , and seconded by Councilman Huffman, that Ordinance No. 154 be approved and adopted. Ordinance No. 154 i s an ordinance levying a tax on property i n the C i t y o f Euless f o r the year of 1961, p r o v i d i n g p e n a l t i e s , i n t e r e s t and legal remedies f o r the c o l l e c t i o n thereof. The tax i s levied a t the r a t e of seventy cents per one hundred d o l l a r s valuation. That twenty-five per cent o f the seventy cents on each one hundred d o l l a r s vaulation hereby levied s h a l l be used f o r the f o l l o w i n g purposes: A. To the extent of $20,100.53, t h e t a x levied upon t h i s section i s for the purpose of paying i n t e r e s t and t o maintain a sinking fund upon the indebtedness of the C i t y of Euless. B. To the extent of a l l taxes c o l l e c t e d under the provisions of t h i s section i n excess of $20,100.53, the tax levied by t h i s section i s for the purpose of paying current general expenses o f the C i t y and for making permanent improvements therein. Section 1 1 1 . That seventy-five per cent (75%) o f the seventy cents tax on each one hundred d o l l a r s vaulation hereby levied s h a l l be used f o r the purpose of payign current expenses of the C i t y of Euless, Texas, and f o r making permanent improvements therein. A l l Councilmen present voted i n favor of t h i s motion. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and seconded by Councilman Huffman, t h a t Ordinance No. 155 be approved and adopted. Ordinance No. 155 i s an ordinance amending sub-section 2.08 of A r t i c l e 11 o f ' Ordinance No. 89 t o provide penalty and i n t e r e s t on delinquent taxes:
