HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-06-27 Budget Work SessionBUDGET WORK SESSION OF THE EULESS CITY COUNCIL June 27, 2016 A budget work session of the Euless City Council was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Linda Martin on Monday, June 27, 2016, in the precouncil meeting room of the Euless City Hall, 201 North Ector Drive. Those attending included: Mayor Linda Martin Council Member Tim Stinneford Council Member Jeremy Tompkins Council Member Eddie Price Council Member Linda Eilenfeldt Council Member Harry Zimmer City Manager Loretta Getchell Assistant City Manager Chris Barker City Secretary Kim Sutter Finance Director Janina Jewell Assistant Finance Director Jackie Theriot Accountant II Ross Fairclo BudgetlTreasury Manager Diana Ayala Council Member absent: Mayor Pro Tem Perry Bynum City Manager Getchell opened the worksession and expressed her appreciation to the Mayor and Council who were able to attend the June 23, 2016 town hall meeting. She further advised that the property tax calculations will be provided to the city by July 25, 2016. City Manager Getchell outlined the purpose of the budget worksession including review of the proposed capital improvement projects and to receive input from the City Council. Assistant City Manager Chris Barker presented and reviewed the preliminary Capital Improvements Program (CIP) for fiscal year 2016-2017, and reviewed the proposed and completed projects, including funded drainage, street, water, wastewater, and other projects including the Texas Star Sports Complex — Phase V, Entry Monument Sign Program, Redevelopment, Euless Development Corporation (EDC) Incentive Fund, Planning Consultant, EDC Contingency, Development and Engineering building redesign, Municipal Plaza Improvements, the Midtown Development, Miscellaneous Park Improvements, Park Irrigation projects, and Glade Parks trail connection design. Budget Worksession Minutes Page 2 of 2 June 27, 2016 City Manager Getchell and Assistant City Manager Barker reviewed the unfunded projects including the priority rankings for each. City Manager Getchell and Assistant City Manager Barker responded to questions from the Council related to the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail audit and funding for future capital improvement projects. City Manager Getchell reminded the City Council of the upcoming budget worksessions to be held on Thursday, August 4 and Saturday, August 6, 2016.
