AN ORDINANCE COVERING FENCES AND
OBSTRUCTIONS, FEES, PERMITS AND
REGULATIONS OF CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, Tarrant County, has experienced a
rapid increase in fencing and obstruction erection in the City of Euless.
WHEREAS, the present Building Code does not regulate obstruction and
fencing properly.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
Section I. OBSTRUCTION PROHIBITED
On any lot on the street side, or sides if it is a corner lot,
no wall, fence or other structure shall be erected, and no hedge,
tree, shrubs or other growth or structure of any kind shall be
maintained in such location as to obstruct the view.

Any fence, wall, hedge, shrubbery, etc. higher than thirty (30)
inches above ground level at property line to a point fifty -two
(52) inches above ground level at the building line on a lot is
hereby declared to be an obstruction to view, except single trees
having single trunks, which are pruned to a height of seven (7)
feet above ground level. No solid wood fence shall be constructed
in front of the building line on any lot including corner lots,
except as defined above.
No fence in a residential district shall exceed 8' 0" in height
above ground level at the fence line.
No permit for a barbed wire fence shall be issued in the City
Limits of Euless, Texas, except for farm or pasture land.
No person, firm or corporation shall erect a fence or obstruction
in the City Limits of Euless, Texas, without first obtaining a
permit.
Section VI. PERMIT FEES:
Wood Fence - $3.00
Chain Link - $2.00
Masonary Fence based on the cost of construction as stated in the Building
Ordinance.
Section VII. ELECTRIC FENCES
Electric fences shall be located within another fence with a
minimum clearance of twelve (12) inches between fences. The
electrical current shall not be more than twenty -four (24)
volts DC currents. All equipment shall be UL approved and
be installed according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Building Permits heretofore issued under existing ordinances shall be
valid for the time for which they were issued under the existing code;
however, upon expiration of said date, the same shall become void.
All pending litigation and existing violations, both civil and criminal,
whether pending in courts or not, under the code and amendments therefore
superseded by this ordinance, shall not be affected by this ordinance, but
may be prosecuted until final disposition by the courts.
Since there has been created and exists an urgency and an emergency for
the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and welfare requiring
that this ordinance be adopted as an emergency measure by the favorable vote
of four or more of the Euless City Councilmen, this ordinance is passed as
an emergency measure, and shall take and have effect and be in full force from
and after its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, on
