HomeMy WebLinkAbout11 07-06-1953ORDINANCE NO. 11 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACEN T AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE VILLAGE OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAI, SUCH AREA SHOULD BE 1,1ADE A PART OF SAID VILLAGE AND THAT THE OWNER AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL OF THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID VILLAGE AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID VILLAGE AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 195311 53rd Legislature, page 367, Chapter 9, codified as Article 974-G, Freddie Sheppard_, Owner of Real Property, hereinafter described haz made application as by law provided to the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Euless, Texas, requesting annexation of the area described herein to said Village, such, area being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a point which is 3641.6 feet west of the Southeast corner of the J. Pm Hal ford survey, an, iron stake in the north boundary line of the Bedford - Euless Road, for a corner; THENCE, east 1482.4 feet to a stake; THENCE, north 264 feet to a stake; THENCE, east 165 feet to a stake; THENCE, north 1207.7 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE, west 1605 feet to a point for corner; THENCE, ;youth 1390 feet to the place of beginning, and being the some properties conveyed to Freddie Sheppard by C. A. Horton and. wife La Verne Horton, August 12, 1952 and recorded in Vol, 2463 page 382 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and conveyed to Freddie Sheppard. by R. J. Cannon and wife Oma Cannon September 6, 1952 and recorded in Vol* 24.71 page 276 of the Deeds Records of Tarrant County, Texas. WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen as provided by law, duly and legally considered the said petition, and it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Euless, Texas, that will statutory requirements in connection with said application have been fulfilled, and that all of said area is adjacent and contiguous to the present Village limit line of the Village of Euless, Texas., and it is not more than one-half mile in width which the Board of Aldermen so finds. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERTviEN OF THE VILLAGE OF Eu-LESS, TEXAS: 1. THATI the property hereinabove described lying adjacent and contiguous to the existing "Limits to the Village of Euless, Texas; be and is hereby annexed and.. brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part Of Euless. Texas. 2. THAT, the owner., and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be and are hereby entitled_ to all the rights and privileges of other owners and Citizens of said- Village a.nd bound by all of the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now and in full force and effect and as may be i1ereinaf ter adopted.. 3m THAT, the official map and boundaries of the Village of Euless, Texas, as hereinbefore adopted and amended, be corrected and amended, so as to incl ucle the aforementioned described area. and territory as a part of the Village of Euless, Texas. Oro THIS ordinance shall become effective frog; and after its passage and. approval by the Mayor and duly attested by the Village Secretary. ADOPTED this 6th day of July, A.
