Dear Citizens,
At City Hall
we've been
spending a
tremendous
amount of
time thinking
about our financial plans, because
it is time once again to adopt a
new budget. We will hold public
hearings throughout the month of
August, and meetings are open to
the public. Please visit the website
for days, times and locations.
Anyone is welcome to attend any
of our budget worksessions and
meetings. All of these are
opportunities for you to come visit
and become involved in the
budget process. You can find
schedules, minutes and budgets
on our city website at
www.eulesstx.gov.
Thanks to those citizens that came
out and participated in the Town
Hall Meeting and heard an update
on the upcoming budget. We
heard some great questions and
feedback!

Disposable Wipes are
Not Disposable
Disposable wipes, the ones that come in the plastic
containers as well as baby wipes and facial wipes
are not meant to be flushed down the toilet.
Unfortunately, many people are doing it because
the Trinity River Authority is spending hundreds
of thousands of dollars removing them. Let's
spend our money on better things than fishing
disposable wipes out of the sewer. Remember,
your toilet isn't a trash can. For a list of items you
should not send into our sewer system, visit
www.defendyourdrainsnorthtexas.com.

Permits? We don't need
no stinkin' permits!
Well, that's not entirely true. We require permits for certain things to help protect you and your home.
Unfortunately, many problems caused can easily be prevented with a simple inspection. Our inspectors
are trained to look for potential problems that you may not know to look for. Plus, insurance companies
will usually not pay damages for non -permitted work. They are calling to make sure permits are pulled
for work performed and properly inspected. For example, if you have electrical work performed by a non -
licensed electrician and it causes a fire, insurance companies will usually not pay for repairs to your home.
Some common types of projects which require permits are:
• Remodeling involving demolition, construction, moving walls or modifying structural elements,
room additions
• Lawn sprinkler systems
• Electrical upgrades or additions
• Accessory buildings or storage sheds which are 120 square feet or greater
• New fencing or alteration of existing fencing other than simple replacement of existing panels
• Carports
• Furnace installation or replacement
• Air conditioner condenser installation or replacement
• Water heater installation or replacement
• Repair of gas leaks
The benefits of a permit: We obtain a driver's license for the contractor.
• We verify their credentials to ensure they are licensed.
• We ensure the work performed is according to code and is safe.
• We inspect and hold them accountable if work is not performed correctly.
We have your back. But, if we don't know about it we can't help you. Call 817-685-1630 or email:
permits@eulesstx.gov or visit www.eulesstx.gov/planning/permits.htm for more information.
