Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
January 16, 1962
The regular meeting of the Euless City
Council was herd on January 16, 1962. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson,
Councilman Billy Owens, Bobby Fuller, Billy Byers, Roy Braswell, and H. M.
Huffrran.
The meeting was opened with a prayer by
Rev. R. W. Collins of the Central Baptist Church.

The minutes of the regular council meeting
of December 26, 1961, were read by Mrs. Thompson and approved by the Council.

Mr. Douglas presented the Council a
preliminary plat of Oakwood Terrace Nort, contianing 319 lots.
A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell to approve this preliminary plat subject'to the
following changes - make Commerce Street sixty foot from Highway 183 to the
intersection of Marlene Street with forty foot paving. The vote in favor was
unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, to accept as submitted, the solution of drainage
on Broadway with a cost to the City not to exceed $541.82. The vote in favor
was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the following street light be installed.
The vote in favor was unanimous. Incandescent: pole west of the Baptist
church annex on Pipeline Road; intersection of Mi lam and Blanco; corner of
Oakwood Lane and Oakwood Drive. Mercury Vapor: Fuller Drive and North Main
Street (replacement); south corner of Cosden Station property on North Main
Street; fifty -five foot north of Luther Morelock property on North Main Street;
Midway Drive and North Main Street (replacement); pole north of bridge on
North Main Street.
A motion was made by Councilman
Fuller, and
seconded
by Councilman Owens,
to allow Tri- Cities Development Corporation to
curb and
gutter Simmons Drive
on the east side from Bayless to the
north corner
of Lot 1,
Block 15, and maintain a sufficient escrow account to pay
for paving
one half
of Simmons until the
entire street is curbed, guttered and
paved
subject to
escrow agreement.
The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the following street light be installed.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell
and seconded by Councilman Byers, that two boulevard lights be installed
at the intersection of Highway 183 and Main Street. The vote in favor was
unanimous.
7.
A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Owens, authorizing the Chief of Police to purchase
a tranquilizer gun for the use of the Animal Warden in catching dogs. The
vote in favor was unanimous.
A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that a public hearing be called for
February 13, 1962, to discuss the increase of lot widths and square footage
in houses. The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Byers,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, authorizing the City Attorneys to draw
up a contract authorizing the School Districts Tax Assessor and Collector
to act as the Tax Assessor and Collector fo the city of Euless. The vote
in favor was unanimous.
