GALA COMMITTEE MEETING
MEETING OF FEBRUARY 11, 2016

The Banquet Committee of the Teen Court Advisory Board of the cities of Hurst, Euless and
Bedford, Texas met at 2:00 p.m. at Bedford City Hall, Downstairs Conference Room, on the 11th
day of February 2016, with the following members present:
HURST: Dawn Jordan-Wells, Lorrie Dickerson, Jen Tucker
EULESS:
BEDFORD: Kathleen Toms
HEB Teen Court Coordinator—Mindy Eichorst
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Kathleen Toms called the meeting to order at 2:06 p.m. with a quorum of four
Board Members present,
NEW BUSINESS
1. Review and discuss Annual Teen Court Scholarship Gala Information.
There were several topics to discuss involving the gala. One of them was getting someone to give the
invocation for the evening. Several people were brought up but Dawn Jordan-Wells mentioned she
would be able to do this. The new name change of the event meant that new sponsorship forms and
letters will need to be made with "gala" in place of"banquet". Teen Court Coordinator Mindy Eichorst
mentioned she is in the process of doing that and will make sure they are emailed to the Advisory
Board Members. Eichorst showed the committee members the new Save the Date cards and all made
a unanimous decision that the cards would work for mailing out. In the past, teen volunteers that are
attending are able to attend for free but if they brought a guest they would still pay $15. The committee
decided that they would keep this the same way as in the past. Along with having a main speaker, the
committee thought it would be neat to have a past teen volunteer come to the gala and speak. A few
names were given to Kathleen Toms to contact and see if they were available.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:57 p.m.
