AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE
INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING
THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE
CITY OF EULESS, AND THAT THE
INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHT' S
AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITI ZENS OF TH E
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE ACTS
AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANCE TO TITLE
28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISE CIVIL
STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING AND CORRECTING
OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, J. H. Lo�,rrey and others, inhabitants of the area
herein described and who are qualified V- vote for members of the

Council of the City of Euless, Texas, their petition requesting
annexation of the said area to the City of Euless, Texas, such area
being described as follows:
BEGIN-NTING at a ; ooint same being in the WE st Right --of—way

157, and the South Boundary line of the T. Jasper Survey

the said Farm to Market Road;

900 varas to the North West corner of a. tract of land

County, Texas, and further described therein as the

THENCE, South along the West boundary line of the said

967 varas to the North right -of -way I_ne of County Poad
No.. 3005, commonly known and described in the official
Tarrant County .Road map of 1948 as the Hurst -Pipe Line Road;

Hurst --Pipe Line Road to the fi__st .right -oi way line of the
Arlington -- Grapevine Farm to Miarke t Road No. 15'7;
THE NCE, iTorth along the East right-of-way line of the said
Arlington-Grapevine F. M. Road to a point same being the
Present City Limits Line on said road;

THENCE, West across the said F. M. Road 157 to the West
right --of -way line thereof;
THENCE, North along the said West right --of -way line of
said road to the place of beginning.
WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed
by J. H. Lowrey, Mrs. Christine Lowrey and B. F. Reaves inhabitants
of the areas described and who are qualified to vote for members
of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified
that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent
of the qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor
of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and
become a part of the City of Euless, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Euless,
Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said pro-
posed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped
into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in width and that all of
same is adjacent of the present City Limits of the City of Euless,
Texas;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULE SS, TEXAS:

THE hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to City of
Euless, Texas, is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate
limits and made an integral part of the City of Euless, Texas, said
territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point same being in the West Right-- of- -i"Tay
line of the Arlington- Grapevine Farm to Market Road No.
157, and the South Boundary line of the T. Jasper Survey,
the present City Limit Line of Euless, Texas, west of
the said Farm to Market Road;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the South line of
the said T. Jasper Survey and. the North Line of the
A. M. Downing Survey, Abstract No. 415, approximately
900 va.ras to the North West corner of a tract of land
situated in the said A. M. Downing Survey, described as
Tract No. 3 of said Survey in the Tax Record of Tarrant
County, Texas, and further described therein as the
J. S. ?4artin tract;
THENCE, South along the West boundary line of the said
J. S. Martin Tract., crossing S. H. No. 183, approximately
967 varas to the North right -of -Tway line of County Road
No. 3005, commonly known and described in the official
Tarra nt County Road map of 1948 as the Hurst-Pipe Line Roo.d;

THENCE, East along the North right-of-way line of the
said durst -Pipe Line Road to the East right --of --way
line of the Arlington -- Grapevine Farm to Market Road
No. 15'7;
THENCE, North along the East right-of-way line of
the said Arlington -- Grapevine F. M. Road to a point
same being the present City Limits Line on said. road;
THENCE) West across the said F„ ifl. Road 157 to the West
right --of -way line thereof;
THENCE, North along the said West right-- of --way line of
said road to the place of beginning.

THAT the inhabitants of the territory herein annexed to the
City of Euless, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges
of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made in con-
formity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuance to Title 28, Chapters
1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas.
5.
THE official reap and boundaries of the City of Euless, Texas,
be corrected and amended so as to include the aforementioned described
territory as -past of said City.
4.
THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage
and approval.
ADOPTED this 6th day of September, A. D. 1954.
