HomeMy WebLinkAbout31 03-07-1955ORDINANCE N0. 31 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINTAN CE S ENACTED IN PURSUANCE TO TITLE 283, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND A TENDING AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF TIE; CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 9"74 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Fe Oo Genseke and others, inhabitants of the area herein described and who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the I,'iayor and 05_ty Council of the City of Euless, Texas, their petition requesting annexation of the said area to the City of Euless, 'Texas, such area being described as follows: A tract of land situated in the A. I. Huitt Survey in Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described as follows: BEGINiING at a point in the South right of way line of County Road. No,. 3020, (Bedford - Euless Road) 2485 feet East, of the Northwest Corner of the safe, A. I. Huitt Survey, said point also being the Mortheast Corner of a tract of land commonly known as the MiTl's Tract; THENCE, South. along the East Boundary Line of the said Mills' Tract 1332 feet to the Southeast corner thereof; THENCE, west along the South Boundary Line of the said Malls' Tract to the West Boundary Line thereof, sazae also being the East Boundary Line of the Almon C. Brpwn Tract, and continuing in a Westerly direction across the said Brown Tract in a line parallel to the North Boumftary Line thereof, a total of 12389 feet to the East Boundary Line of the C. C. Cottinghcun Tract, annexed to the Village of Euless, Texas, on July 6, 1953, pursuant to Ordinance ivo« 12; THENCE, North along the East Boundary Line of the said Cm C. Cottingham Tract 278,20 feet to the Northeast Corner thereof; THENCE, West along the North Boundary Line of the said Ca C, Cottingham Tract, same a1 so being the South Boundary Line of the Cm 0. Genseke Tract 1246010 feet to the Southwest Corner of the said F. 0. Genseke Tract and also being the Northwest corner of the C. C. Cottingham Tract; THENCE, North along the West Boundary Line of the said F. 0. Genseke Tract 1053.80 feet to the Northwest Corner thereof, said point also being the Southeast Corner of the intersection. of Farm to Market Road No. 157, (Arlington to Grapevine) and County Road No. 3020 (Bedford- Euless Road); THENCE, East along the South right of fray line of County Road Noe 3020 (Bedford -- Euless Road) 2485 feet to the place of beginning. WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed by F. 0. Genseke; Grace Brown and Almon C. Brown inhabitants of the areas described and. who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent, of the qualified voters residing in such area who have voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the City of Euless, Texas; and WHEREAS, it appearing Texas, that all statutory posed annexation have been grouped into one territory all of same is adjacent of Euless, Texas; to the City requirement, fulfilled a is not more the present Council of the City of Euless, in connection with said pro - ad that the said area duly than 1/2 mile in width and that City Limits of the City of BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS'. 1. THE hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to City of Euless, Texas, is hereby annexed and. brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of the City of Euless, Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being des- cribed by metes and bounds as follows'. A tract of land situated in th.e A., I. Huitt Survey in Tarrant County, Texas, more fully described as follows., BEGINITING at a point in the South right of way line of County Road No. 3020, (Bedford -- Euless Road) 2485 feet East of the Northwest Corner of the said A. T Huitt Survey, said point also being the Northeast Corner of a tract of land commonly known as the Mills' Tract; THEE ?CE, South along the East Boundary Line of the said 1dills' Tract 1332 feet to the Southeast corner thereof; THENCE, West along the South Boundary Line of the said Mills' Tract to the West Boundary Line thereof, same also being the East Boundary Line of the Almon C. Brown Tract, and con- tinuing in a Westerly direction across the said Brown Tract 2 in a line parallel to the North Boundary Line thereof, a total of 1238.,9 feet to the East Boundary Line of the C. C. Cottingham Tract, annexed to the Village of Euless, Texas, on July 61 1953, pursuant to Ordinance Noe 12; THENCE, North along the East Boundary Line of the said C. 0. Cottingham Tract 278.20 feet to the Northeast Corner thereof; THENCE, West along the North Boundary Line of the said C. 09 Cottingham Tract, same also being the South Boundary Line of the F. 0. GensekP Tract 1246.10 feet to the Southwest Corner of the said F. 0. Genseke Tract and also being the Northwest corner of the C. C. Cottingham Tract; THENCE, North along the 'Vest Boundary Line of the said F. 6. (-'Ten seke Tract 1053.20 feet to the North-west Corner thereof, said_ point also being the Southeast Corner of the intwrsection of Farris to Market Road No. 157 (Arlington to Grapevine) and County Road Noe 3020 (Bedford- Buless Road); THENCE, East along the, South right of way line of County Road No. 3020 (Bedford-Euless Road ) 2485 feet t(D the Plaice of b eginning. 2. THAT the inhabitants of the territory herein annexed to the City of Euless, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuance to Title 23, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. 3. THE official map and boundories of the City of Euless, Texas, be corrected and amended so as to include the aforementioned described territory as part of said City. 4.
