HomeMy WebLinkAbout36 04-11-1955ORDINANCE N0. 36 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS AND TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALT BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANCE TO TITLE 28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS, AND A!'.'TENDTNG AND CORRECTING OFFICIAL BOUNDAR- IES OF TIIE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Re A. Haurley and others; inhabitants; of the area herein described and who are cualified to vote for members of the State Legislature, have heretofore filed frith the 'iayor and the City Council Of the City of Euless, Texas, their petition recuesting annexation of the said area to the City of Euless, Texas, such area As is described in field notes and plat attached hereto and made a part hereof. IWHEREAS, said petition voTas accompanied by an affidavit executed by F. T. Bilger, Mary J. Bilger and R. A. HaTITley, inhabitants of the areas described and who a.re qualified. to vote for members of the State Legislature and that by signing said aff i davit certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than fifty percent of the aual ified voters residing in such at.�ea who have voted in favor of having the said area, and the inhabitants thereof annexed to and become a part of the City of :Euless, Texas; and WH:P EAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped into one territory i s not IMI'Ore titan 1/2 mile in width and that all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits of the City of Euless, Texas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUIML OF THE CITY OF EULESc', TEXAS: 1. THE hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Euless, Texas, is herebJT annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral bar. t of the City of Euless, Texas, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and such area is described in field notes and plat attached hereto and made a part hdreof. A 2 THAT the inhabitants of the territory herein annexed. to the City of Euless, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens and bound by all the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in pursuant to Title 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. 3. TIE, official map and boundaries of the City of Euless, Texas, to be corrected and amended so as to include -the aforementioned d es-- cribed territory as part of said City, 411$ THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and approved. .ADOPTED this 11th day of .April, A. T. Cash, the Ts Jaspers the J. Matson, the A. M. Donning, and the K. House Surveys,, and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a present corner in the cj ,porate limits of Euless, Texas, said corner being in the south line of the Bedford-Euless Road No. 3020; THENCE west, following along the south line of the Bedford - Euless Road. No. 3020, 2640 Feet to a point in same for corner; THENCE south 2640 feet west of and parallel to the present corporate limits line of Euless, Texas, 2853 feet to a point for corner located in the A. T. Cash Survey; THENCE west 290 Feet to a. point for corner located in the Ad T. Cash Survey; THENCE south '-JSO feet west of and parallel to the present corporate limits line of Euless, Texas, part of which follows alon the west line of a Broad, crossing Pipe Line Road No. 3091, and continuing -':,o a point for corner located in the north - west right of way line of State Hips way No. 183; THENCE northeasterly following along the northwest right of way line of State Highway I30o 183 to a corner in the present corporate limits of Euless, Texas; THENCE north, east, and north following along -the present corporate limits of Euless, Texas, to -the place of beginning.
