AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE INHABITANTS
AMD TERRITORIES ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS,
AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHOULD BE A PART OF THE
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SHALL
BE ENTITLED TO THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER
CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEX -AS, AND BOUND BY
THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES ENACTED IN PURSUANCE TO TITLE
28, CHAPTERS 1 to 10 INCLUSIVE, REVISED CIVIL STATUTES
OF TEXAS, AND AMENDING 'AND CORRECTIING OFFICIAL BOUNDAR-
IES OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974 of the 1925 Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, Hodges lAcKnight and others, inhabitants of the
area herein described and. who are qualified to vote for members of
the State Legislature, have heretofore filed with the Mayor and the
City Council of they City of Euless, Texas, their petition requesting
annexation of the said area to the City of Euless, Texas, such area
as is described in field notes and plat attached hereto and made
a na.rt hereof.
WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by an affidavit executed
by R. J. Jerrigan, R. J. Clark, Jr., and Mrs. R. J. Clark, Jr.,
Inhabitants of the area described and who are qualified to vote for
members of the State Legislature and that by signing said affidavit
certified that said petition contains the signatures of more than
fifty percent of the qualified voters residing in such area who
have voted in favor of having the said area and the inhabitants
thereof annexed to and become a part of the City of Euless, Texas;
and
SrdHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Euless,
Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said pro-
posed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly
grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in width and that
all of same is adjacent of the present City Limits of the City
of Euless, Texas;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
1.
THE hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City
of Euless, Texas, is hereby annexed and. brought within the corporate
limits and made an integral part of the City of Euless, Texas, said
territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and such area is
described in field notes and olat attached, hereto and made a _mart
hereof.
THAT the inhabitants of the territory hereiri annexed to the
City of Euless, Texas, shall be entitled to all the rights and
privileges of other citizens and bound by all 'the acts and
ordinances made in conformity thereto and passed and adopted in
pursuant to Tithe 28, Chapters 1 to 10 inclusive, Revised Civil
Statutes of TeX as.
3.
THE official map and boundaries of the City of Euless, Texas,
to be corrected and amended so as to include the aforementioned
describes? territory as part of said City.
4.
THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its
passage and approved.
ADOPTED this 25th day of April, A. D. 1955.
