AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE
N0. 44 HERETOFORE ADOPTED ON THE 24th DAY OF
FEBRUARY A. D. 1956; PROVIDING THAT THE RECORDER
OF THE CORPORATION COURT FROM AND AFTER THE EX-
PIRATION OF THE TERM OF SUCH OFFICE ON APRIL 2,
1956, TO BE APPOINTIVE, INSTEAD OF ELECTIVE;
AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 of
Ordinance No. 44 heretofore adopted by the City Council of the
City of Euless, Texas, provides that the office of recorder
of the Corporation Court shall be elective;
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of providing that
such office shall be appointive in lieu of Elective; and
WHEREAS, it being considered by the City Council of the
City of Euless, Texas, to be in the best interest of the health,
safety and general welfare of said City and its inhabitants to
make such office appointive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
THAT, from and. after the expiration of the term of office
of Recorder, on or about April 2, 1957, the said office shall
become appointive instead of elective, who shall be appointed
by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council. The
term of such office shall be for two years following such appoint-
ment.
THIS Ordinance repeals all other ordinances or parts
thereof that may be in conflict with the provisions of-this
- ordinance.
