Dear Citizens,
I am so pleased
to announce
Loretta Getchell
as the first
female City
Manager for the
City of Euless.
She will be a
great leader for
our wonderful community and
will continue the tradition of
strong, smart leaders. Loretta will
absolutely have big shoes to fill
and we have complete confidence
that she is fully capable of not
only filling, but outgrowing those
shoes. She is an intelligent and
energetic leader and will continue
to be a great asset for Euless. We
appreciate her willingness to
tackle a most difficult, challenging
position.
If things do not improve, we will
likely be observing Stage Two
Watering Restrictions which
means watering once a week.
Water is our most precious
resource. Please use it judiciously
and help us continue to conserve
during these extremely dry
conditions.
The PACS Playbook is chock full
of activities to keep you and your
entire family busy during spring
break. Have a great month and
please continue praying for rain.

New City Manager
Announced
The City of Euless is pleased to
announce the appointment of
Loretta Getchell as the next City
Manager. Getchell holds a
Bachelor's Degree in Business
Administration from the
University of North Alabama. She
is also a Certified Public
Accountant and a Certified
Government Finance Officer.
Getchell received unanimous
endorsement from the Euless City
Council following the retirement
of Gary McKamie.
"Loretta's service to Euless has
proven to be exceptional. She is a
natural choice for City Manager.
Loretta's knowledge and
management of a variety of
departments and responsibilities
have given her well-rounded
experience and leadership that will serve
Euless well in the years ahead. Perhaps
most importantly, Loretta cares deeply
about the community and the employee
family," said Gary McKamie.
Getchell has been a part of the Euless
city government for nearly eighteen
years. She began in Euless in 1997 and
served as the Director of Fiscal and
Administrative Service. In 2004 she was
promoted to Assistant City Manager and
in 2008 she was named Deputy City
Manager.
"It's a true privilege to serve the citizens
of the City of Euless. Euless has had a
strong history of teamwork and
cooperation and I am looking forward
to building upon the vision that Gary
McKamie has set forth," remarked
Loretta Getchell. "Euless is a special
place that has a history of strong
leadership, stability and a spirit of
cooperation and teamwork from both
the City Councils and previous City
Managers. These are exciting times for
Euless with tremendous development
opportunities for our city thanks to our
current Council and those who laid the
foundation in the past. We are also
fortunate to have dedicated employees
who truly care for this city and work
every day to make it better."

Averting Stage Two
Watering Restrictions
Not Likely
Severe to extreme drought conditions have been
present in North Texas for the past four years. The
lakes that Tarrant County utilizes for water
storage reservoirs are Lake Bridgeport, Cedar
Creek, Eagle Mountain and Richland -Chambers.
The combined lake levels determine the observed
stages of the drought contingency plan. At the
time of this writing, the storage capacity is 61.5%.
Once these lakes drop below 60% of capacity,
Tarrant County will begin observing Stage Two
Drought Restrictions. This next set of restrictions
dictate that watering take place only once a week.
Stage Two is a sign of more dire circumstances.
During this stage water users are limited to
watering once a week and are prohibited from
using water for dust control, operation of
ornamental fountains or ponds (except where
necessary to support aquatic life) and are
encouraged to wait to establish new landscaping.
A watering schedule will be determined and
neighborhoods will be informed of their watering
schedule by Euless Today newsletter, signs, email
and the Euless web site.
Please continue to conserve water and limit
outdoor irrigation, especially during the winter
when lawns are dormant. Save water. Nothing can
replace it.
