Did you know?
Texas Star Golf Course gift cards make a
great stocking stuffier.
Dear Citizens,
In recent months, you
may have seen some
familiar names pop-
ping up around town.
In September, the
practice facility at the
Texas Star Golf Course
was named in memory and honor of
longtime Council Member and volunteer
Glenn Porterfield for his years of service
to the city. In October, the southern
entrance to the Parks at Texas Star was
named to honor Charlie Miller. Mr.
Miller served on the Council and various
boards and was instrumental in the
development of the Parks at Texas Star. In
March, the city will honor former Council
Member Glenn Walker with the naming
of the 18th bridge at the Texas Star Golf
Course. Mr. Walker served on the City
Council for 21 years and has dedicated
countless hours in service for the City of
Euless.
Euless has such an incredible community
of volunteers and we are happy to
recognize these wonderful individuals
and express our gratitude to those that do
so much for our city. I encourage all of
you to look for opportunities that will
pique your interest while providing a fun
way to meet your neighbors.

Christmas Tree
Recycling Event
Saturday, January 2 , 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Euless Family Life
Aquatic Park Parking Lot,
300 W Midway Drive
Don't throw away
your Christmas tree:
Recycle it! The city
uses the mulch
throughout the year
to maintain city
parks and medians. Residents may bring their
own bag to fill with mulch for their gardens or
flowers. Limit one bag per person. The Parks
Department may work with residents on
additional quantities if available. Residents may
dispose of LIVE Christmas trees only (with no
ornaments or lights) at the designated area of
Midway Park from December 26 - January 2. On
January 2, the city will host a tree mulching
demonstration and will give away bags of mulch
and tree saplings to the public. Additionally, hot
dogs and drinks will be available for free to
anyone who participates in the recycling event.
For more information, call 817-685-1650.
Updated Rabies
Vaccination Regulations
A recent change in our city animal ordinance will
have an effect on owners of dogs and cats. The
City now allows pet owners to opt for a three year
rabies vaccination rather than an annual
vaccination. Even with this change, every person
owning or keeping any dog, cat or ferret must be
immunized against rabies, and must have a rabies
tag on your pet.
Scoop the Poop
Animal owners are responsible for the removal of
all pet waste deposited by his/her animal on
public walks, recreation areas, or private property.
This applies to the owner's property in terms of
not allowing unsanitary conditions, such as
creating an odor nuisance.
Noise Ordinance
Some people might say a dog's bark is worse than
his bite. If you live next door to a barking dog, you
know that to be true. The City of Euless has a noise
ordinance, which states an animal that "barks,
whines, howls, crows, cackles or makes any noise
excessively and continuously" that disturbs any
person in the immediate vicinity is prohibited.
Animal Registration
The City of Euless now requests owners to register
their dogs and cats residing within the City of Euless.
Registering your pet allows Euless Animal Services
to quickly locate you and ensure your pet is safely
returned home. You will receive an ID tag in the
mail for your pet with their personal identification
number. Voluntary participation is free. If an
unregistered dog or cat is picked up by Animal
Services, a registration fee will be assessed before the
dog or cat is released from the Animal Shelter. For
more information about registration, please call the
Euless Animal Shelter at 817-685-1594 or visit
www.eulesstx.gov/animal.
Trinity GAP Club Needs
Foster Homes
For several years the Trinity High School GAP Club
in partnership with Trinity GAP Rescue, a 501(c)(3)
charitable organization, has helped the Euless
Animal Shelter avoid euthanizing any adoptable
pets. Animal intake is on-going and never ending.
In order to keep saving all these pets, GAP
desperately needs fosters for dogs, cats, puppies and
kittens. Browse thru the GAP website,
http://trinitygaprescue.org/ to see pets in need of
homes or foster homes or for a foster application.
Vet care is provided for foster animals and help is
available to you with any needs. GAP volunteers are
at the Euless Shelter every Saturday from 10 a.m.- 2
p.m. to answer questions, meet potential
adopters/fosters, and train and socialize shelter pets.
If you're thinking about fostering, stop by and talk
to a GAP volunteer. Contact GAP Sponsor Steffenie
at steffeniegaprescue@gmail.com for more
information.
