HomeMy WebLinkAbout83 09-07-1957ORDINANCE 83 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF EU.LESS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALT, BECOME A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL OF THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDIING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts 1953, 53rd Legislature Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article 974-G, Midway Park Developers, Joint Venturers, of Dallas County, Texas, owners of the real property hereinafter described, have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, requesting annexation to the City of Euless, Texas, of a -tract of land consisting of 26°95 acres of land out of the J. P. Halford Survey, in Tarrant County, Texas, the description thereof by metes and bounds being as per the following: Lying and situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being a 26.95 acres of land out of the J. P. Halford Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the East line of the Euless- Grapevine Road (County Road No, 3129) 2,138°0 feet South 000 282 West and 25,0 feet East from the intersection of the center line of said Euless - Grapevine Road with the centerline of the Old Dallas Road (County Road No. 3011) said beginning point being in the present city limits line of the City of Euless, Texas; THEME North 000 282 East 1,063,0 feet with the East line of the Euless - Grapevine Road; THENCE North 890 322 West 538.0 feet, to the beginning point of a curve; THENCE in a Westerly direction 335.0 feet with a curve to the right of central angle of 200 102 and tangent of 169°3 feet; THENCE North 690 228 West, 60.9 feet; THENCE South 200 382 West 950.0 feet to the beginning point of a curve; THBNCB in a Southerly direction 85.8 feet with a curve to the left of central angle of 200 348 and tangent of 43.4 feet; THEI;TCE South 000 048 West 175,0 feet; T1113ICE South. 890 578 East 1265,0 feet to the point of beginning. WHEREAS, the City Council of Euless, Texas, as provided by law, has received said petition and duly and legally considered the same, and it ap- pearing to the Council of said City, that all statutory requirements in con- nection with said application have been fulfilled and that said area is adja- cent and contiguous to the City of Euless, Texas, and is not more than, one -half mile in width on which not more than three qualified voters reside, all of which the Council so finds. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULBSS, TEXAS: 1, THAT, the property hereinabove described and as shown on the plat at- tached hereto, being adjacent and contiguous to the City Limits of Euless, Texas, be and is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of the City of Buless, Texas, and is hereby made an integral part thereof. 2. THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be en- titled to all the rights and privileges of other Citizens and property owners of said City, and be bound by all of the acts aad ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect and that which may be hereinafter adopted. 3. THAT, the official map and boundaries of the City of Euless, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended be and is hereby amended so as to include the aforementioned described therein territory as part of the City of Euless, Texas. 4. THIS ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, and duly attested by the City Secretary.
