The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed Home Rule Charter with members of the Home Rule Charter Commission. were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen Roy Braswell, H. M. Huffman, Bobby Fuller, and Billy Byers. Present Charter Commission members present were Chairman W. G. Fuller, N. W. Tillinghast, Ernest Millican, Jr., Henry Uselton, Jr., Earl Holcomb, Hershel Morgan, Warren Fuller, and Joe Umphress. Visitor present was Mr. W. E. Smith, Tax Assessor and Collector. 1. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman Byers, that the Council request the Charter Commission to add the word "real" to the property ownership requirements as qualification for Councilman candidate in Section 2, Article 11. The vote in favor was unanimous. 2. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Huffman, to accept the Home Rule Charter from the Charter Commission, to be voted on for approval at the regular council meeting of May 8, 1962. The vote in favor was unanimous. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Braswell, that the meeting adjourn. was unanimous. The vote in favor Minutes Approved: /s/ J. S.
