HomeMy WebLinkAbout88 11-12-1957ORDINANCE NO. 88 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL OF THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts 1953, 53rd Legisla- ture Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article 974 -G, Midway Park Developers, Joint Venturers, of Dallas County, Texas, owners of the real property here- inafter described, have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, requesting annexation to the City of Euless, Texas, of a tract of land consisting of 80.03 acres of land out of the J. P. Halford Survey, in Tarrant County, Texas, the description thereof by metes and bounds being as per the following: Lying and situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being 80.03 acres of land out of the J. P. Halford Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the West line of the Euless - -Grapevine Road 1075.0 feet South 00 deg. 28 min. West and 25.0 feet West from the intersection of the centerline of the Euless - Grapevine Road (County Road No. 3129) with the centerline of the Old Dallas Road (County Road No. 3011), a point in the present ROW line of the City of Euless, Texas; THENCE North 89 deg. 32 min. West 488.0 to the beginning point of a curve; THENCE in a Westerly direction 335.0 feet with a curve to the right of central angle of 20 deg. 10 min. and tangent of 169.3 feet; THE-NICE North 69 deg. 22 min. West, 60.9 feet; THENCE South 20 deg. 38 min. West 950.0 feet to the beginning Point of a curve; THENCE in a Southerly direction 85.8 feet with a curve to the left of central angle of 20 deg. 34 min. and tangent of 43.4 feet; THENCE South 00 deg. 04 min. West 175 feet; THENCE North 89 deg. 57 min. West 234.4 feet; THENCE North 86 deg. 40 min. West 725.2 feet; THENCE North 2030.0 feet to the South line of the Old Dallas Road, the present City limits of Euless, Texas; THENCE North 89 deg. East 1886.5 feet with the South line of Old Dallas Road; THENCE continuing with the South line of Old Dallas Road South 88 deg. 14 min. East 100 feet, South 86 deg. 06 min. East 100 feet, South 81 deg. 14 min. East 100 feet to the West line of the Euless, Grapevine Road; THENCE South 28 deg. 16 min. East 21,0 feet; THENCE South 00 deg. 28 min. West 1000 feet to the point of be- ginning. WHEREAS, the City Council of Euless, Texas, as provided by law, has received said petition and duly and legally considered the same, and it ap- pearing to the Council of said City, that all statutory requirements in connection with said application have been fulfilled and that said area is adjacent and contiguous to the City of Buless, Texas, and is not more than one —half mile in width on which not more than three qualified voters re- side, all of which the Council so finds. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS; 1. THAT, the property hereinabove described and as shown on the plat attached hereto, being adjacent and contiguous to the City Limits of Euless, Te_cas, be and is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of the City of Euless, Texas, and is hereby made an integral part thereof. 2. THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be en- titled to all the rights and privileges of other Citizens and property own- ers of said City, and be bound by all of the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect and that which may be here- inafter adopted. 3. THAT, the official map and boundaries of the City of Euless, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended be and is hereby amended so as to include the aforementioned described therein territory as part of the City of Euless, Texas. V. 4, THIS ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, and duly attested by the City Secretary.
