HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-05-08169 Regular Meeting Euless City Council M* 8, 1962 The regular meeting of the Euless City Council was held on M* 8, 1962. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen Roy Braswell, Billy Byers, H, M, Huffman, and Bobby Fuller. by Councilman Bobby R. Fuller. The meeting was opened with a prayer 1. The minutes of the regular meeting of April 24, 1962, and special meeting of May 7, 1962, were read by the City Secretary and approved by the Council. 2. The Council heard Nk Duckett of North Main Street regarding construction of a temporary building for produce sales on his lot. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman Byers, to grant Nk Duckett a temporary permit to operate a produce stand. The vote in favor was unanimous. 3. The Council heard Nk A. R, Mayes regarding a permit to collect garbage and trash from service stations. Nk Mayes was given a copy of Ordinance No. 43 for study and further discussion at a later date. 4. The Council heard from Nk Nichols regarding a change in zoning of 108 acres for Nk E. L. Baker to commercial. The Council advised Nk Nichols to attend the public hearing on May 15, 1962. 5. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Byers, to approve and adopt the proposed Fbw Rule Charter as presented by the Charter Commission on M* 7, 1962, and the date, July 21, 1962, as recommended by the Charter Commission be adopted and set as the official date of voting on the proposed Hm-r Rule Status. The public hearing on an ordinance calling such election is set for M* 31, 1962, at 8:00 p.m. in the Euless Junior High School and proper publication will be made thereof. The vote in favor was unanimous. W The Council authorized Chief W. M, Sustaire to build a cibycle rack to hold recovered cibycles for an approximate amount of $40.00 170 (Page Two, Regular Meeting, Euless City Council, May 8, 1962) 7. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman Huffman, authorizing the trade for a fifteen inch carriage Royal typewriter. The vote in favor was unanimous.
