AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ALL APPLICABLE ORDINANCES
AND RESOLUTIONS OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, TO
REFLECT THE REDESIGNATION OF STATE HIGHWAY 183
TO STATE HIGHWAY 10 AND SPUR 350 TO STATE HIGHWAY
183 WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, many ordinances and resolutions of the City of
Euless, Texas, refer to and designate portions of the City in
relation to State Highway 183, also known as Euless Boulevard,
and Spur 350, also known as Airport Freeway; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transpor-
tation, pursuant to the authority granted it by the laws of the State
of Texas, has redesignated State Highway 183 within the corporate
limits of the City of Euless, Texas, as State Highway 10 and has
also redesignated Spur 350 within the corporate limits of the City
of Euless, Texas, as State Highway 183; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of
Euless, Texas, to amend all applicable ordinances and resolutions
of the City of Euless, Texas, heretofore adopted by such Council to
conform to such change
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS:
I.
All ordinances and resolutions of the City of Euless, Texas,
heretofore adopted and passed by the City Council of the City of
Euless, Texas, referring to State Highway 183, also known as
Euless Boulevard, as same was then constituted within the corpor-
ate limits of the City of Euless, Texas, shall hereafter read and
refer to such roadway as State Highway 10, which roadway shall
continue to be also known as and referred to as Euless Boulevard.
II.
All ordinances and resolutions of the City of Euless, Texas,
heretofore adopted and passed by the City Council of the City of
Euless, Texas, referring to Spur 350, also known as Airport Free-
way, as same was then constituted within the corporate limits
of the City of Euless, Texas, shall hereafter read and refer to
such roadway as State Highway 183, which roadway shall continue
to be also known as and referred to as Airport Freeway.
III.
Severability Clause. That it is hereby declared to be the
intention of the City Council that the sections, paragraphs, sen-
tences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if
any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance
shall be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree
of any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality
shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences,
paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have
been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this
ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence,
paragraph or section.
IV.
Emergency Clause. By the affirmative vote of four or more of
its members, the City Council declares that this is an Ordinance for
the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, and
safety, and is an emergency measure within the meaning of Article II,
Section 11 of the City Charter; and the requirement that it be read
at two meetings, as specified in such Section 11, is hereby dis-
pensed with.
V.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by
the Euless City Charter and the laws of the State of Texas.
PRESENTED AND PASSED on first and final reading on the 28th
day of August, 1979, at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Euless, Texas, by a vote of 5— ayes, 0 nays and
0 abstentions.
