AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
A PORTION OF AN UNNAMED FIFTY FOOT
STREET IN THE J. E. FIELD SURVEY, ABSTRACT
540, IN THE CITY OF EULESS; AND DECLARING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, after careful study
and consideration, has determined that the portion of the public street,
hereinafter specifically described, is not being used by, nor useful, nor
convenient to the public in general; therefore, it constitutes a public
charge without a corresponding public benefit, and the public would be
better served and benefited by its vacation and abandonment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION I.
The portion of the unnamed street situated in the J. E. Field Survey,
Abstract 540, in the City of Euless, particularly described in Exhibit 1,
attached hereto and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes, is
hereby vacated and abandoned as a public utility easement.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage as
provided by law.
PRESENTED AND GIVEN FIRST READING on the 11th day of March, 1980, at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the CiXy of Euless, Texas; GIVEN
SECOND READING, PASSED AND APPROVED on the a� —+Iay of
1980, by a vote of Ll ayes and nays, at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Euless, Texas.

The undersigned hereby make application for the vacation and abandonment
of that portion of the above named street particularly described in Exhibit .
No. 1, attached. In support of this application, the undersigned represent
and warrant the .following:
1. The undersigned will hold the City of Euless harmless,
and indemnify it against all suits, costs, expenses,
and damages that may arise or grow out of such vacation
and abandonment;
2. Attached, marked Exhibit f`•.'o. 2, is a plat or sketch of
the street sought to be vacated and the surrounding
crea to the nearest streets in all directions, showing
the abutting lots and blocks, and the addition in which
the above described portion of such street is situated,
together with the record owners of such lots;
3. Attached, marked Exhibit Ho.3, is the; consent of public
utilities to such vacation;

5. Such str,.,_t should be vacated becauscc It was dedicated prior to
the submission of development plans of property either side of the
street. Vacation of the R.O.W. would provide more flexibility on
the part of current owners in development of their property.

pasture land.

described as follows:
The description of the centerline of said R.O.W.:
Beginning at a point in the East right -of -way line of Baze Dr. (Field -Doss Rd.)
said point being southerly 1289.2 feet from the southeast corner of the inter-
section of Glade Road and Baze Drive.
Thence in an Easterly direction 2491.2 feet along the centerline of said unnamed
street right -of -way to the end of said right -of -way, said point also being in the
West line of North Main Street, and said point also being southerly 1292.6 feet
from the southwest corner of the intersection of Glade Road and North Main Street,
and containing approximately 2.86 acres of land more or less.
