AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 496
INCREASING THE STANDING REWARD TO BE PAID
FROM THE TREASURY OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS,
FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND
CONVICTION OF ANY PERSON WHO INJURES, DAMAGES,
DESTROYS OR REMOVES ANY REAL OF PERSONAL PROPERTY
OF SUCH CITY IN VIOLATION OF THE ORDINANCES OF
SUCH CITY AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS.
WHEREAS, in 1975 the City Council of the City of Euless,
Texas, provided a reward to be paid from the treasury of the
City of Euless, Texas, for information provided by citizens
which information led to the arrest and conviction of persons
injuring, damaging, destroying or removing real or personal
property of the City, and
WHEREAS, though such reward has proved of assistance in
providing information with respect to such offenses the
rapid rise of inflation has rendered such reward of less
significance than when originally adopted and it is the
opinion of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas,
that such reward should be increased so as to provide a
continuing incentive to good citizens to provide information
to appropriate officials of the offenses for which such
reward may be paid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
ORDINANCE NO. 496 adopted on first and final reading of
the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, on the 25th
day of November, 1975, provided a standing reward of fifty
dollars ($50.00) payable by the City of Euless,Texas, for
certain information leading to the arresi- and conviction of
any person commiting certain offenses with respect to the
property, both real or personal of such City.
From and after the effective date of this Ordinance
such standing reward shall be and the same is of the sum of
One Hundred Dollars (-$100.00).
APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON FIRST AND FINAL READING on
the 14th day of October, 1980, at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, by a vote
of 5 ayes p nays, and p abstentions.
